#1368Mex relax guy we all go thru slumps and the only way we get out of them is by playing, we cant second guess ourselves after some losses and say we cant win anymore. This can be a roller coaster ride now relax and get back on top of that hill.Comment -

#1372interesting, any reasons why MEX ur on NOH. I know they play better at home and the new kid is filling out quite well for Chris Paul, but still... I think BOS will have to blow out a team eventually one of these days and this is a good spot. Then again, Ive learned to never bet against you haha.Comment -

I'm currently on a 7 month losing streak. You kids have no idea what this business is really like...no idea whatsoever.
You lose a couple of days and you think the world is coming to an end.
If you're any good at all, just suck it up and plow forward. If you're a bad handicapper then you were just lucky to begin with and the cards are now breaking even.
I am constantly amazed how people think they are never supposed to have a downturn. It just shows me that they haven't been around very long.
If you want an example look at lakerboy. He's down 23 units in the last 22 days, but he just keeps plowing forward.
Is Lakerboy a perfect handicapper. No. He makes mistakes like everyone else. He'll over bet once and a while and chase here and there, but on average he sticks to his plan and he understands variance.
But most importantly, he has extreme confidence in what he is doing.
He is someone you can learn from.Comment -

#1383Mexi, I'm down 100% of my bankroll last day, about 33% of my initial year deposit. I know it doesn't help you at the moment, but just to let you know if you ever start posting again I will be the first to follow."I have never seen a wild thing feel sorry for itself. If you had read earlier then you would realize what I was saying. I worded it poorly and just meant I am done posting in general. Just going to get the few posts for points and be done with the forum for the day.
I will just post my fade material and grade it and then move on to the next day while running my book for a little while.Comment -

#1385Hornets win straight up. I liked them winning straight up, but after the countless losses there was no reason to possibly throw away more money.

Anyone with that sort of record for the year obviously is doing well. You just hit a shit streak like we all do where it's hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel. If anyone should give up, it'd be me - 7-14 in tennis, maybe 3-9 since restarting college hoops, now that my friend is some crap. Keep plugging along.

#1393Mex,
I think part of getting into a funk too is that you feel like you owe it to people to post winners because you developed a big following here and people are practically begging for picks. Pressure should only be what you put on yourself to win a couple, not having to pump out picks for others. You should always take care of making the picks you like for yourself first, regardless of whether or not you post them in a forum like this. Making those unposted picks that win are more important than worrying about helping others all the time. That's my opinion.Comment -

#1394Actually, I think just the opposite is true. You're only down 19 units in the past 23 days with all of those horrible losing days thrown in the mix.
That says a lot about your abilities to hang in there and bounce back in the face of advirsity.
Yes, you are way up overall, and that hasn't gone unnoticed.
I'm trying to let Mex know that he's not the only one who has bad swings. He may be doing everything correctly, but it's just variance rearing it's ugly head.
It's not an easy business. Not easy at all.Comment -

#1397According to Mexi himself, this can't be a valid point simply because jinxes and stuff like that do not exist. It also makes it easier for Twitter users like me to spot his plays since there are so many non-bet replies in this thread."I have never seen a wild thing feel sorry for itself. A little bird will fall dead, frozen from a bough, without ever having felt sorry for itself."

#1400Of course you gotta hate losing, you're not alive if you don't, but you're also not a gambler if you don't lose and sometimes blow a substantial bankroll that you built up. I just think you're taking it a little harder because you want to please the masses who are following you after your great start with the NBA this year. Shows you're a good guy. In any case, you're solid man and just gotta take the ups with the downs and vice versa. We all gotta learn how to cope with 'em.Comment
