I don't believe in jinxes or anything. Same deal with posters who post a bet and count it a win before it finishes for it to only lose. I think it is silly. Kobe Bryant is not getting signals about somebody posting the Lakers covering for them to only blow the game and lose the spread etc.

Well I was hitting like 70% or even higher probably at the time I started it. Nobody is going to keep that pace. After tonight since I started twitter I am up 3-4 Units in NBA since January 25th. The reason I made a twitter is so people can still see my plays. I respond to about 99% of the comments posted in their plays plus people share their own plays in this thread from time to time. Some people don't want to dig around 2-3 pages and try and spot out the plays. Some people use their phone to browse the forum and it takes much longer to dig through the pages than getting a text message saying Hornets +5 (To win 5 Units).

Haha, you are saying this to the wrong guy trust me. I'm really out of sync right now and wouldn't want to start arguing with another member here so I'll just tell you that and another thing: streamlining.

Mexican, how do you cope with such a big losing streak when you are a perfectionist? I am only asking because I am a perfectionist myself and even though I can cope with this deadly disease in "real life" - I am having trouble accepting a bad night with sportsbetting. Enlighten me please.

I don't know I just accept it. I still try and remember I am up over 70 units of profit on the NBA season, so I have been playing with house money for a long time overall.

How do you think you'd deal with it if you weren't up and playing with house money? or more realistically: at the beginning, how did you deal with losing nights or horrible streaks? if those occurred during that time.

I would probably just stop betting NBA then and cut my losses. It would be easy with NBA because I don't like NBA. I am not even sure if I could name a person from each team. I guess I have a good feel for the little time I have watched games and seeing box scores.

Example Lakerboy posted a thread around two weeks ago about the Nets and how many games they would cover. Since then they have been on fire covering games. I don't want to back them, but you have to know they aren't going to be automatic fade material forever.

Boston has not closed a game in forever. Cover games in the first half and blow games in the second half.

Probably doing my points book help since I see every box score a few times when grading bets, so I remember how teams have been doing.

I suck at baseball, but love baseball. It doesn't help me at all because I want to be in the green and yet I keep losing. I just keep firing away. Not chasing, but it is obvious I cannot win with baseball. I am just determined and stubborn and want to be in the green so I keep trying. I don't know.

See, this is my problem only with NBA (although I was up BIG before the 2-day falldown I suffered) - but the problem is: I do chase. Question that follows: what stops a perfectionist sportsbettor like you, passionate about baseball and stubborn, from chasing? what do you do with the emotional triggers?

Honestly mex Ive always felt the same. Im not a compulsive gambler by any means. I can stop gambling cold turkey and live (what I like to call) a normal life. But I cant stand losing bets on things that I know wayyyyy to much about and feel I have tons of knowledge on.

We arent compulsive gamblers, we just dont accept losing.

PS Ive lost so much money betting baseballs, its a joke.

PPS Giants World Series this yr, count it!

Where is the line between these two? that's the question that haunts. I haven't lost a dime I couldn't afford to lose so far, but I cannot for the sake of my sanity say with complete confidence that I am the latter and not the first.

Yeah I love baseball, so I will see how that goes this season. I just need to set a chalk limit and I set units risked and I should be okay. I plan on just placing action on the Reds all season and see how that works. I think they will have good value this season, but I am biased because I live in Cincinnati.
