For the record I'm almost happy about dropping to 7 if that's what it ends up being. Memphis are a better matchup even though I rate them higher than Houston and Portland overall.
Let's see what happens. Hitting rock bottom in March is not always a bad thing.
In 2011 everyone had the Mavs losing to Portland in the first round, then everyone had them getting swept by the Lakers. Last year everyone (including myself) thought the Spurs would embarrass them.

I just think Cuban or whoever makes the calls made some bad moves, particularly the Rondo move. You can only have so many stars on one team, seems like there are just too many guys who need to have the ball in their hands on the Mavs. And I think they miss Brandan Wright. Mavs bench is just awful. Their bench consists of over the hill guys who were good 5-10 years ago (Jefferson, Villunueva, Barrea).
Just my opinion, obviously there is a lot of season left. But right now they look like the team i'd want to face in the first round. I got a feeling two most dangerous teams in the playoffs will probably be the 7/8 seeds, Spurs and OKC.Comment -

in terms i'd understand, seems like...Nets are to NBA what Rockies are to MLB...not necessarily the worst...but as a bettor: they're the quickest way to the poor house/nut house...no culture of pride...just a (very much overpaid) job that they don't particularly care one way or the other on any particular outing if they win or lose...

Re: Dallas, you guys are all entitled to your opinions. FTR I think I've repeatedly put a number of teams in the West ahead of them and been fairly critical of their performances quite a bit. It's not like I think they're the favourites to win the championship or anything. If I had to make a pick now on which round they reach I would say the most likely outcome is a first round exit. But I don't think it's sensible to rule stuff out yet for this team. Of course people will tell me I'm crazy to think the Cavs or Hawks or Bulls or whatever have no chance to win a title since I've repeatedly said no east team is winning shit this year. We'll see. We all have our opinions.
For Rondo I said even before the trade was made that it was a questionable fit so I'm not surprised things have been rough. However I do find things are being overblown lately. He's far from being the only reason they're not playing well now. Tyson Chandler playing hurt, Dirk and Ellis being in horrible slumps (mostly missing easy shots), and Parsons being hurt might have something to do with that too.Comment -

Well that was an unmitigated disaster. The live play I planned on Charlotte didn't work out either. Obviously left out a winner in OKC. Of course I had to sweat out 3 OT's just to get fukked by a useless layup with 3 seconds to go then a stupid team forgetting to foul.

Such a shame we're going to miss out on a great OKC/GSW series because of the Durant thing. Almost had those 4 great series like last year.
With Portland starting to fall off and the Clippers sneaking up, I'm praying Dallas can somehow get the Clippers in the 4/5 matchup. That's the only team I'd have them favourites to win against in a series. As weird as that may sound I really want to avoid Houston. I think the Rockets are a team to watch this postseason. If Howard buys in to what this team has been achieving without him I think they're a very real threat.
I think the East might have some good series too. It won't be the same level of play but there is quite a bit of parity at least. Miami is finally starting to look the way I've expected them to look all year. This would've happened sooner if they could have ever got healthy but whatever. Such a shame about Bosh. I like what I'm seeing from Chicago these last 2 games. I feel like they've finally turned the corner and will have a strong end to the season. And obviously Detroit are once again a joke. Getting Butler back tonight would be a plus but it's not a dealbreaker. Good luck.Comment -

This one is a real real killer. I mean you literally can't make this shit up. Up 19 compeletely bossing the game, finally looking like a good team putting a good stretch together, and suddenly one of the worst offensive teams in the league goes beserk on you and doesn't miss a shot for 7 minutes, and you quit after that. Can't make layups, can't make free throws, nothing. Total capitulation.
Doubt I'm getting over this one any time soon. This really really hurts. I'm honestly sick of this regular season. It's been very forgettable to say the least. April 18th can't come soon enough.
