I may end up going bigger on this. The Spurs are awesome but I see a very focused Clippers squad right now. A lot was made of the way San Antonio played in the last month. Well LAC played pretty great without many people noticing. This game is huge for them. They know they can't afford to put themselves behind the 8-ball in this series. Clipjoint will get it done in the opener. I expect a strong defensive effort in this one.Comment -

I really liked the Spurs to take out the Clipps but I didn't expect the odds to be that low. Definetely a Spurs line. I'm not betting it at that price but there might be 1 or 2 good spots in the series to hammer the Spurs. I have no idea what happens in game 1, though.Comment -

I don't feel like the Spurs are a good comparison because they have 2 or 3 players who could average 25 a game and possibly be MVP candidates or whatever if they were on another team that featured them more and played them more minutes. They beat you with their schemes and ball movement, sure, but they have players who are top 3/5 at their position. Who on Atlanta is even top 10 at their position?
Whether the Nets are good enough or not to actually expose any of this is another story. I think they could be at least good enough to win a couple games.Comment -

Memphis didn't have a legit star last year and they did quite well in the playoffs. It's also arguable whether they had one in Rudy Gay before they traded him. You might say they don't have the player who can create his own shot in late game situations like Z-Bo for the Grizz, but I don't think last year Z-Bo is much better than Millsap/Horford. As far as their individual talent, Horford is definetely a top 5 center. Might even be top 3 behind Gasol and Cousins. Millsap is also a top 10 PF right now. There aren't many guys at the position this versatile and efficient on offense. Teague has performed as a borderline top 10 PG this season considering how good of a defender he is. Korver's value is a bit hard to determine but his impact on opposing defenses is huge. With the shortage of good SGs right now he'd probably make the top 10 as well.
Now, I don't have the Hawks coming out of the East or anything like that but I think you're underestimating them a bit too much. Their two best players have a decent amount of playoff experience and their performance in big games this season doesn't suggest Budenholzer can't make adjustments in pressure situations.Comment -
The Hawks should be able to get to the ECF but I think they'll have a tough series with Toronto in the second round.
They run good action. Everyone gets good looks. You need a point guard like Teague who can dribble penetrate to get a lot of those open looks.Comment -

Michael BudenHolzer is a very good coach. 2 years as Spurs video coordinator, after 2 years he changed to G. Popovich assistant coach until the end of 2013.
