NBA Season Thread With Matchup Analysis

Goat, do you think Wizards +2 first quarter is a good or reasonable play? Maybe Spurs starting slow and Wizards at full steam?

How do you select Team Totals on pinnacle? I can only find the standard nba bets + 1st Half, 2nd Half and Quater bets but all total bets
are for both teams combined. Do I miss something? Still pretty new, so I might just be too blind for it

I don't use pinnacle but it's definitely there somewhere. Typically it's just right next to the full game total.

Not even sure. Way too tough to bet quarters imo as it's tough to predict who exactly is going to be on the floor for that final 3 minutes of the quarter which typically determines those kinds of winners. I like the Spurs to win that game. I don't think the Spurs will lose to the worst team in the NBA. It's a psyche thing.

Why not? It's not like Spolstra is a better coach than Dantoni. Everyone knows Bryant is the coach. I'm not sure they can beat Miami but I am sure they will win the West. OKC will have no answer for LA in a 7 game series just like they didn't against miami. OKC needs a real pg. Westbrook is a 2guard the sooner they figure that out the better shape they are in

PLAY 33: PISTONS +1 -110 Risk $165 to win $150

Pistons should be able to win this game. Supposedly, Aldrich is dealing with some back issues, and that's a nightmare when you have to defend a post player like Monroe. It wouldn't be wise to let Hickson guard Monroe as there is a 4 inch height difference there. Maxill would be a tough matchup for Aldrich as well if he's not feeling healthy because of his activity in the paint. The most interesting matchup tonight is at the PG position with two of the best young point guards in the NBA. Knight has been getting better each game at both defending and splitting the pick n roll. Portland has had trouble defending the pick n roll all year long and I don't see why that would change tonight. Their offense is very stagnant at times and way too reliant on Lillard to make plays for them.

Pistons are a big team and should make life difficult for the Blazers who are primarily a jump shooting team. Pistons can be beat up in the paint but that doesn't play to Portland's strength with shooters like Batum and Mathews and Aldrich always wanting to hang out 20-25 feet from the basket.

The Pistons have one of the best benches in the nba in my opinion and the Blazers have one of the worst. I expect Maggette to work his way into the pistons rotation and put up some good numbers. He is a nightmare matchup when healthy for anyone in a blazers uniform including Batum or Mathews. Will Bynum Drummond Jerebko and Singler should all provide a nice spark. Hopefully Charlie V only makes a cameo apperance for a couple buckets because he can't play D for shit.

The Pistons are a very big overall team and I think Portland will have a lot of difficulty defending them in the paint tonight, especially their second unit.

No sry not for this one. Cleveland coming off a couple tough losses on the road to great basketball teams and now returning home and highly doubt they can maintain an offensive pace to keep up with the suns who just have too many options 1-9. A couple significant mismatches in the starting lineup as well imo for the suns at the pg and the sf positions.
