#2389Sorry I haven't been active in this thread last few days, responding to questions and such, I think it has all gotten a little big for me, just the massive ammount of traffic and posts (good and bad) I think has created extra pressure on me to produce "winners" and there have been too many occasions when (upon review) I have either forced plays or played marginal picks when I should have simply abstained. Of course this pressure is mostly self created, perhaps even non-existent, but regardless your mental state and clarity of thought are the most important assets you have in this game.
When I started this thread I was doing really well, first in tennis and then not long after in the NBA, and things were a lot simpler. As the traffic and profile of this thread has increased, so inadvertently has the pressure I have felt to do well. I will be the first to admit I have let myself feel too good after the nice winning days and all the pats on the back, and too worried about the negativity that is inevitable after a bad day. Both of these states of mind are detrimental to solid handicapping. So anyway I have decided to go back to basics. For the immediate future I am not going to be reading or responding to comments.
I'm sorry to have to take such a standoffish approach, but I just want to focus on winning again and not allow myself to get caught up in all of this (undeserved) hype. I'm not really sure how the thread has gotten so big TBH, I don't talk myself up, I'm not claiming to be some super 'capper. In real life I am actually very humble and nonchalant, I do not seek the limelight in any way whatsoever and so I need to remain this way on SBR and just focus on keeping a clear head, doing solid research and (hopefully) getting back to picking winners.
Going to really attempt to tighten things up and only put out ATS picks I feel really good about. Also the 1 total per day thing seems to be working so far (2-0 ATM) so will probably stick with that plan for now.
NBA Friday
Orlando @ Toronto
Raptors -3.5 (-105, $1.95 Pinnacle) 2x
*Big Baby Davis is the focal point of this Magic team and I consider him to be a massive out for an already overachieving team. Of course Toronto's current no name list is also overachieving, but I see no reason why it can't continue here. This same list (with the addition of Landry Fields back from injury) has easily disposed of Dallas, Houston and Detroit the last three home games as well as that painful road win over the Cav's. This is a team not used to winning and I expect they will attempt to ride this current momentum for all that it is worth. Dwayne Casey is so impressed with the effort and intensity from this current group that he has already mentioned that he will look at bringing Lowry and Bargnani off the bench when they return. Why not, as Calderon is playing "lights out" basketball at the moment and the Davis/Johnson combo is holding down the PF spot nicely and bringing great intensity every game, as is Alan Anderson who has been a pleasant suprise during this current 4 game win streak, the guy has been everywhere , it's like there is 2 of him on the court sometimes.
Indiana @ Cleveland
Pacers -4 (-107, $1.93 Pinnacle) 2x
*Pacers are rolling at the moment. Their record over their last 10 games (6-4) doesn't do justice to how well they are playing after a slow start to the season. Consistent play from West, Hill and George has been the key through their recent run and while Hibbert still has a way to go, he is still very important as the defensive anchor behind this solid defensive unit. Big strong physical team will be a handful for this young Cav's list that has been dissapointing to say the least through their last 10 games (1-9).
Sacramento @ LA Clippers
Kings +13.5 (-102, $1.98 Pinnacle) 1x
*In case you didn't know the Pacific division is loaded with rivalries and these teams just don't like each other. While this match-up may not be the same as Lakers/Suns or Kings/Warriors or Kings/Lakers match ups, I still expect the Kings to fight hard against the Clippers (as they did against GS) who with each win get closer to a loss or at the very least a let down in intensity. Cousins was unstoppable against GS and the play of young Isaiah Thomas off the bench has added a nice spark to this team. Brooks also starting to look good with his electric speed and more importantly he is starting to look for his teammates instead of always his own shot.
Milwaukee @ Boston
Celtic's -5.5 (-108, $1.92 Luxbet) 1.5x
*Should not have procrastinated for so long on this one as missed the -5, however with Jennings and Ellis banged up and and at least 1 of them (most likely Ellis) should miss this game, like the C's here. Not buying the current popular angle of "teams stepping up when the stars go down" on this one, as Boston is too desperate to get some momentum going (13-12) and revive their season. Paul Pierce is the barometer for this team and he is starting to heat up which is always a good sign for Celtics fans. Bucks biggest advantage would have been the speed of their back court but with the boys banged up, even if they play do not expect them to be 100%. Jennings in particular likely to be a step slower as his injury is to his ankle.

#2393Arthur, im sure it's not that. Have you ever tried to cap games yourself? Try that and when you hit a losing streak, you'll experience such a negativity you didn't think it'd existed. It's better to distance yourself from all of it, believe me.Comment -

#2400Originally posted by ShotgunRuaThis site posts 2 parlays per week and gives general betting tips through the week for big games. Last Saturday they put 2 parlays on, the first was £10 for £90, the second was £10 for £460- both hit. Check the twitter feed and you can see the bookie on there discussing their losses!
This site is a paid service, my friend has an account, pays £10 per year. In the last week or so I've won around £600 blindly tailing.
I know NOTHING about soccer or basketball, I bet on boxing and MMA and do pretty well on both. I learned a while ago that if you get a decent size bankroll, you're careful with unit sizes, and you find someone like Sando for each sport who will win over a long term, you can sit back and watch your pot of money grow.
Good luck mate hope you tail this weekend's parlays on the top link.Last edited by SBRAdmin3; 06-27-14, 05:34 PM.Comment -

I don't like the fact that Evans is out for the Kings. Thornton will probably be moved the starters and he is much better as 6th guy from the bench (contra to Crawford).

#2411Thanks for the big card today again!
Have you thought about opening an own blog somewhere?
You would seperate every days card and ppl would post in the comments section regarding any bet of that day.
Imagine every day would be another article (which can be edited if you add plays, without searching your post through all that "spam")
This would be clearer for yourself and you had the rights to delete all those hater comments, spam, anything thats not constructive criticism, etc.
It's not that "open" for us since we can't just post questions about betting in general like ppl sometimes do but you could for example create an article for that massive writeup you gave us, so ppl could put their questions regarding betting in general over there.
The best part is, that you would only see all that if you really want. You don't have to fight through tons of comments, you would just create your article for upcoming bets and swing by the comments sections of previous days if you feel up to.
If you're interested but don't know how all that works, send me a PM, I can help you with that.Comment -
