when it just says veterinarian they don't tell you anything more..maybe when it's a private vet scratch they want more specifics

If the trainer says the horse is coughing, did not eat dinner last night but does not have a fever as of now but taking into consideration that she has traces of bute in her from the pre race treatment, which will alter the true temperature, the state vet has no choice but to accept the trainer’s recommendation.
That can be the truth or not. Therein lies the problem I tried to address all those years ago . Only the trainer actually knows. Fans cannot possibly know what to make of it. That is where we find ourselves now.

any time a race has seven or less horses in it or nine or less in a daily double or triple race only a state vet can scratch the horse for the trainer. More than that in any race, and you can either scratch for no reason or with an excuse from your regular vet, and not the state vet.

too bad with this one especially..finally lands in a winnable spot and would've been nice to see her give it a go ..not about money of course as she certainly would have been a big underlay but because we've followed along for a long while..if she gets through her 2 allowance conditions there in 3 or less starts be interesting to see how she progresses..hope she gets that opportunity again

I think I'm back in the saddle again, but, still some fog in the vicinity. Lol.

Just looked at the Saratoga race for today with to AM's entered. Maiden 20k and really competitive.
You can tell when Saratoga runs. All the horses are entered with a purpose. No running just to run stuff there. Everybody wants to win every race. Not that they always don't but they enter in reasonable spots instead of this wish and hope stuff. Great racing up there. Half the horses could win that race and it would not be a surprise. Great to see. Value all over the place. No need to stick with favorites when at Saratoga. GL everyone.

these are great betting races for sure and either wouldn't surprise me ..I think #6 RTC has some interesting things going on at a big price..in a nutshell;a shot to run at this level and distance (together) with a race in him for fitness and blinkers back on which produced front running ability in the past .. be interesting if he does pull it off will the fox crew mention the late,great allen jerkens whose nickname was "the chief" for those who don't know

remember on ocassion he gave horses multiple 6f to 1 mile workouts approaching a race ..knew he meant business when he did that

well they'll only be one going ..#4 army proud is scratched..kind of glad about that with all the talk about the other ..also chance of thunderstorms in the afternoon..off track wouldn't discourage me as AM's like the mud

"leon blue" named after the late trainer leon blusiewucz who you said you knew (quite a character you said as do many others) in his racetrack days and a horse we discussed once before ..he won today and is quite a gritty performer overall including today's win ..check out his pp's if you get a chance

Running back this quickly is a real positive. With today’s entry times being so far out, for a trainer to have that thought run across their mind to enter back that quickly after a poor performance tells you quite a bit. Anytime I see a quick turnaround, I always see it as a big positive . With the last race being a poor one, making the odds likely higher today, I find it very difficult to toss those types.
