rick dutrow has the ml favorite 6 igniter (2-1) going up against 3 real expensive horses including a $5M yearling purchase 3 courting (3-1) trained by pletcher..the other 2 expensive ones 7 (6-1) and 8 (12-1) are trained by chad brown

A mile is interesting. Starting off at that distance usually suggests the horse does not have a early turn of foot. Maybe not supposed to with the breeding but, it is a clue.

Ricks horse looks like it will be tough in there. You never know with Todd and Chad if the horse is a monster but if so, I would tend to think they would have run shorter, like 7/8ths if that was possible.

Remember, Ricks horse will most likely be better today than his last race. That is how we were taught. That's probably the deal here.

even with how well dutrow's ran first out penciling him as the ml favorite shows a lot of respect with what else is in here .. the $5M horse is route top and bottom so I can see starting off at a mile for him

I like rick's horse here (6 igniter) ..think the 3 might need a race and Chad's two are cold on the board..he's currently 4-1 @ 45mtp

just figure I'd mention that R9 today at aqueduct,the vosburgh stakes, is sponsored by army mule .. sensible sponsorship as AM final race same track,distance and both are graded stakes (carter stakes was AM's final race and he won it )

Thanks JBEX. Appreciate all the work that goes in and especially Laurel, where I can see who is training an Army Mule baby. You can bet if they are at the horseman’s reunion next April, I will be sure and ask them about the horse they train. I doubt some of them will feel as strongly about AM as we do but you never know. It will be interesting or sure and I will ask about soundness , breathing demeanor, etc. and try and learn more about his offspring.
Now that will be interesting.

yeah would be cool to hear from a trainer's perspective what one or two of them are like if you are able to talk to somebody who has or had one


there was an AM winner there yesterday in R8 that paid $17.80

I'll throw one out there today (by army mule) since we are discussing him..will not be added to the record as it's not one of our tracks
