Last I looked Goldencents was 7-1. That is WAY to low IMO. Could easily get that the day of the race if not more, if he makes the race. The horse did catch my eye with his raw talent. He certainly has that. As I said though, he has a lot of mental work to do between now and May. So far so good, but let's continue to monitor.
As for the hardwoods, ask away, post a photo if that's what you mean, whatever. I have no problem answering any of those questions right here. You will get as honest of an answer as I can provide, as always.

For those hardwood floor enthusiasts out there, here was my response.

Assuming they are 3/4 inch thick, you will want a drum sander but sanding a floor is an art form in itself. You just can't rent one and expect the same quality of sanding as someone with a lot of experience would give you. Like an artist.
You will still need to get to the corners as the drum will not get in there, so something smaller will be needed for those corners.
After you sand them, you want to stain them the color of choice. Minwax is fine and gives you a lot of selection. Once stained and dried for a few days you will want to very lightly sand them , probably with steel wool and by hand. The idea is to be sure and knock off any and all very small imperfections. Steel wool will work fine. You do not want to steel wool sand with much pressure. Don't compromise the stain, just go over it lightly. After that, vacuum up ALL dust particles. Give it a day to let the dust settle and vacuum it again making sure that the filter is very clean before the final vacuum. Do not wear shoes during the final sanding or either vacuuming. If you do, it will leave prints that the poly will pick up. Once it is perfectly clean, poly it working your way out the door and don't walk on it for 24 hours. That should be enough time but if it is humid, it could need more. Check it with your fingers before walking on it at the door the next day and you should be good to go.
There are 3 kinds of poly . The most popular is the middle grade of shine is called semi gloss. There is also a duller finish with very little shine and the high gloss that gives you a wet look of shine.

used mini wax cherry the stain went with a semi gloss abco which i like a little $$$$$$ but its worth..... those plater walls ....were tough, once they go ..i had to go back 3-4 to repair for the look.

i ran some new electric in all 3 rooms...that includes a bathroom .....it was old knob and tubbing ..........so my outlets were about 60 year old....replaced them and added 3 new ones lucky ,,,i had a crawl space on the third floor .....so i was able to feed the wire that ...instead of the plaster ...well starting next room........giving the poly 2 days to dry.....

im doing the entire wall and ceiling......half the wall has 70 year old wall paper the hald has has plaster with know wall paper..........the hall room is plaster and everything that is behind it....there is a section that has a 5 x 5 section of sheet rock where the plaster gave out.......the one choise i half ..1/4 heet rock entire room....which im not going to do........to many ankles .....and i have my entire first floor from the flood............i just want to ....take the wall paper off ..where it comes easy.....then fill the rest with spackle ...blend it in........did you ever do that............i did find out if you spackle .sand paint...the sore spots show better and you can fill them in then put another coat of paint..........????? i know i should take down the wall paper.......but i tried ,,abd some plaster gave way.....soo....that last picture i sent....did the same way.......

Sorry but I am no help in that department. I buy them, deconstruct for donation or demolish them depending on the house, and build new. I have no clue on wall paper. That always goes into the dumpster.

The floors do look awesome and you deserve all the credit for that. Well done and you are welcome.

As for Tru Greek, Robin is EXCELLENT in the "Blks. On" angle especially going long for any Md. circuit followers for future horses she might enter, and it showed in his last race. However, going from 2nd in the MSW. race to trying the Private Terms with that horse is a lofty goal. I might have needed to see a " rocket belt On" change of equipment to be convinced he had a chance in there.

As for Goldencents, and Flashback, while we are at it. IMO Goldencents has not improved mentally at all from December to now. That effort was not indicative of a horse that is prepping for the Derby. I saw some comments that fans post under the DRF column and I could not disagree more. People are blaming everyone but the responsible party, that is, the horse. Both jocks did nothing wrong from what I saw. Goldencents broke running and actually was starting to settle at least a little bit going into the 1st turn when he( the horse) panicked and ran off, thus losing all chance of winning. Getting pressure in that right eye will do that, as previously stated in this thread. He would not relax, he fought the jock all the way from the 7/8ths pole to the 3 1/2 pole before the jock finally said screw it and did what the horse was demanding. Not surprisingly, he ran out of gas. As previously stated, if he can't learn to relax except alone on the lead, and only partially then, the only way he wins is in that scenario and that is a tough scenario to get on the triple crown trail . Just too much talent behind you in most cases. However, if you are Seattle Slew like, you can get away with it, but they don't come around very often.
Flashback also panicked. He was inside going into the 1st turn and if he would have been content to settle, he would have been fine, and probably won with room to spare. But he did not do that. He saw brief daylight and ran towards it, against his jocks wishes. That cost him through the lane. He still has time to adjust mentally but he needs to take full advantage of that time in order to be ready in May. It can be done, but the horse really needs to step up. For Goldencents, it is hard to imagine as of today he could turn it around that quickly. He has left himself a mountain to climb.

Could other riders prevented this from happening to these two horses? Maybe, but you never know until it is too late. It takes a lot of time and a really great rider/horse connection to make this happen. The only way it becomes successful is if you try it but it takes months and several races to fully see the outcome. Look no further than Game On Dude. He is much improved IMO since the rider change and if that improvement continues he has a good chance to have a career year. We shall see.

I cannot tell how large an area of cracks you have. Can you give me an idea? Like a 6ft. x 6ft. square? I also cannot tell how deep the cracks are. The slab should be at least 4 inches thick if that helps. Have you seen any water coming through those cracks? You mentioned in the PM that some places were shifting. Are they raising up or sinking down, or neither?

the entire area is about 17 feet x 8 feet with amountt a area of 6 x 6 without tile ,,,,some tiles are lifting ,because when i tap with a hammer i can hear the hollow, the cracks are about the size of a quarter ,meaning you can fit a quarter in them.....the hole just developed ......the remaider of the house has a 6 inch slap with rocks and a vapor barrier, ,,,,,you can see them rising and they are on the concrete where the heater is ,and no one will touch the heater without fixing the concrete, ,,so i have to put a supplemental claim in ,,,i was wondering how should i phrase it........im going to private message you

what did you think of goldenscents yesterday..... I thought he rated well yesterday...........like the way mr palmer ran yesterday at the wood....... but he has to low of points.....there would be know way him running net week...would there be...........I was reading the blog you wrote about mott and his horses....didn't unstand it fully.

Goldencents ran very well yesterday. All the morning efforts to settle him down paid off. I looked for a close up pic of him a few races back because I noticed he was running in a ring bit. Pretty sure he ran in a leather prong before yesterday but I could be wrong. That ring bit will help keep a tough to rate horse in check while the prong bit will not. He only started to relax IMO as they started down the back stretch. He found himself in a perfect spot for a speed horse that does not make the lead alone. That spot is outside, and no horse anywhere near his right eye. This is huge early on in the race for a horse that will not settle. Had he been in the middle of 3 horses across the track, I can not imagine that he would have run well at all, off his previous efforts. He kicked on when asked and ran great.
What caught my eye was that the horse on the lead stopped turning for home and no other horse in the race could catch him. That is weird except for the fact that it is Calif. racing where speed seemingly gets every break imaginable.
We have always known he has the talent and yesterday he got the trip. Can he get a clean trip in the derby. Can he continue to try and settle early on. Yes and yes, but he will need a lot of luck to pull it off. The post position draw and first 36 seconds of the derby will be crucial for him to have success. Again, his talent is not the issue. It is his demeanor as well as luck or a lack of it on that day that will ultimately tell the story.
Very nice job yesterday though. Have to tip your hat to the horse and connections for a job well done.

there was another horse who I thought that was coming along Mr palmer but he is in 28th place.....and only next weeks races coming,there is no way mott runs him back ....maybe some horses will not run.,but then again there are horses who are going to pick up points for running..........whats the down side of running a great horse in 7 days , when I see a horse coming back in a week or less ,I like it......is it the fear of injury .does it really hurt a horse that bad. ? I don't know .but would love to hear your thoughts

Horses are always asked to do less these days it seems. There is no downside to running a horse back in a week providing the horse came out of the last race perfectly and is ready to go. Because of the pampered nature of horses these days, after coming back in 7 days, it will probably be a spot where the next race after that would be 45 days or so. That is just the way they do it these days. From a bettors angle a quick return to the races is a positive and a good thing to look for. Running a horse back quickly that came out of it's last race sharp almost always gets the horse on edge more so than the typical 4 weeks. It is a great angle to play "on" that type of horse if they fit the spot. Such was the case with the Mott filly in the Ashland. She caught a field with no early speed, broke from the way outside sharply, went to the lead and won easily.

off the subject, I went to home depot to pick up my cabinets ( unfinished ) when I went there ,every cabinet was damaged and mildew all over, they knew I was pretty pissed, so instead of there normal cabinet they offered me , a cabinet called kitchen kabints ,yep with a k never heard of them did you......do you know of a better cabinet, I think they will bend and twist to help me ...........they were really messed up ...mold was all over........and they knew I hired a person and it set me back weeks now.....thoughts......

There are many cabinet makers and I have never heard of that manufacturer. The houses I build demand a high end brand name so I go through a cabinet only company.
I would suggest that you ask for the same cabinets that you originally asked for, providing the wait time is not too long. If it is, research the brand but do not be forced to settle for something you will not want later. With a rush on them they probably can have the new ones in your hand in 2-3 weeks if pushed. They should do that for you in light of the damage and hassle factor.
