    I was sold from the 3/4 pole after a 1/16th to the wire. Incredible run for a firster to sustain IMO. Ran through the kickback like it was nothing and had the smarts to switch lead’s exactly on time. Also assuming the winner is a real nice horse as well. A lot to like there I think.

        Really ran well Batt. Congratulations to you.

        It never looked to me like that he would be allowed to get a 1/2 mile in 49. I think the race was over at that point. He is just too tough on the lead, especially with a breather early.

            Thanks guys! Yeah when I saw the fractions... I had hope! And then around the far turn... Everyone at the sports book knew I was rooting for!!! So much fun! He got a performance bonus for winning a grade 1 by the farm!!! So that was a nice little bump!

I see on the workouts that he fired bullets this summer but now he is breezing much more in control. Believe it or not, that can actually be a positive in a situation like this one. Looks like he is spotted to win. GL .

                      yes I see what your saying with the works..some real blazers in there but not necessary after getting the race in..other side is they're putting up for sale a real expensive horse for $20k..if it's the same owners I feel sept,3yo,long layoff after 2yo debut signals reality check and put where he belongs

                            That was a very nice find JBEX.

                            This one kind of jumped off the page especially if you knew how the trainer is thinking.

                              I think one other important part I left out is the effort off the layoff at ellis park,at least imo, led me to believe he still could be competitive if placed right..the good effort wasn't just because of the drop ..combination of both imo

                                Agree. When I said he checks all the boxes that was referencing his last race in particular. Off that effort , Rick put him in a winning spot as long as he was the same horse. No reason to think he was any worse and probably a bit better after that last race. That painted a picture of a horse ready to move forward and with that drop down we would simply be much better than those others.

                                        Congratulations! Seize the Grey showed what he’s made of this evening at Parx with a dominant performance in the $1-million G1 Pennsylvania Derby, triggering a $2-million kicker as part of his stud deal on top of everything else.
                                        Your grey broke sharply, and was briefly challenged for the lead, but Jaime and Seize the Grey didn’t blink and managed to establish command down on the fence into the first turn. They posted a :23.89 opening quarter, and were able to slow it down nicely down the backside through a :49.25 half. Seize the Grey seemed to be inching clear of the competition entering the home bend, but the G1 Santa Anita Derby winner Stronghold was among those launching serious bids from the back of the pack.
                                        Stronghold ranged up to challenge Seize the Grey at the top of the lane as favorite Dragoon Guard looked to sneak up the fence, but as soon as Seize the Grey saw Stronghold, he turned on the afterburners and kicked clear again with authority to open up several lengths.
                                        This was obviously a pivotal race for Seize the Grey’s career, and he could not have answered the call any more emphatically. The G1 Breeders’ Cup Dirt Mile is the next target we’ve had in mind for a while, and will likely remain the goal, but we’ll see how the colt comes back and chat with Wayne in the coming days.

                                              When a jock looks back, under their arm or under there butt, THEY HAVE A LIVE HORSE. It might not hold off all of them, but it typically runs very well. Always a real good sign Batt.

                                              The ears are a great observation. Closest thing to listening to them you can get IMO.

                                                        Seize the Grey Post-Race Report
                                                        Seize the Grey has exited Saturday's big win in good order and was ship back to Churchill Downs this morning. He will train up to the Breeders' Cup from there. We of course will now have a decision to make as far as which race run in--the G1 Dirt Mile or G1 Classic--but have some time to weigh those options.
                                                        Seize the Grey earned a 97 Beyer Speed Figure for Saturday's run.

                                                          We couldn’t be happier with how your colt is training up to next Sunday’s G2 Santa Anita Sprint. Pending all continues well from now until then, he will be entered on Thursday.

                                                                things going smoothly..might find this interesting..deterministic's dam sire is speightstown who's a sprint influence yet he's able to run distance's on the turf..caldera's is tiznow who as you might know won back-to-back bc classics..very possible he'll be able to go long when the time comes

                                                                        The 2 Million dollars was a performance bonus.. It doesn't count towards the earnings though. It Equates to about 400 dollars per share.
                                                                        The win paid 50 per share.
                                                                        So just to be up front I bought a share for 127.00 I have seen 520 dollars returned to me not counting the expected 450 stated above.
                                                                        There are still performance bonuses on the table, Earnings on Races, and a small percentage of stud fees.
                                                                        STG is by far the best performer...
                                                                        Straight no Chaser is about 1/3 of return
                                                                        One fast Dream was about 2/3 return
                                                                        Show your cards was about 4/5 return ( Insurance) as he was cast in his stall and ended up in horse heaven.

                                                                        The rest of the horses I have had are not even close.... But as the old saying goes..... Sharing time with my dad and mom( they live in a different town) watching the horses is Awesome! Winning the "Preakness" Priceless!! Not that I discount any other race or horse I have had the luck to win with! and share a winning moment with my dad especially!!
