I was sold from the 3/4 pole after a 1/16th to the wire. Incredible run for a firster to sustain IMO. Ran through the kickback like it was nothing and had the smarts to switch lead’s exactly on time. Also assuming the winner is a real nice horse as well. A lot to like there I think.

It never looked to me like that he would be allowed to get a 1/2 mile in 49. I think the race was over at that point. He is just too tough on the lead, especially with a breather early.

I think one other important part I left out is the effort off the layoff at ellis park,at least imo, led me to believe he still could be competitive if placed right..the good effort wasn't just because of the drop ..combination of both imo

Congratulations! Seize the Grey showed what he’s made of this evening at Parx with a dominant performance in the $1-million G1 Pennsylvania Derby, triggering a $2-million kicker as part of his stud deal on top of everything else.
Your grey broke sharply, and was briefly challenged for the lead, but Jaime and Seize the Grey didn’t blink and managed to establish command down on the fence into the first turn. They posted a :23.89 opening quarter, and were able to slow it down nicely down the backside through a :49.25 half. Seize the Grey seemed to be inching clear of the competition entering the home bend, but the G1 Santa Anita Derby winner Stronghold was among those launching serious bids from the back of the pack.
Stronghold ranged up to challenge Seize the Grey at the top of the lane as favorite Dragoon Guard looked to sneak up the fence, but as soon as Seize the Grey saw Stronghold, he turned on the afterburners and kicked clear again with authority to open up several lengths.
This was obviously a pivotal race for Seize the Grey’s career, and he could not have answered the call any more emphatically. The G1 Breeders’ Cup Dirt Mile is the next target we’ve had in mind for a while, and will likely remain the goal, but we’ll see how the colt comes back and chat with Wayne in the coming days.

#8357Seize the Grey Post-Race Report Seize the Grey has exited Saturday's big win in good order and was ship back to Churchill Downs this morning. He will train up to the Breeders' Cup from there. We of course will now have a decision to make as far as which race run in--the G1 Dirt Mile or G1 Classic--but have some time to weigh those options.
Seize the Grey earned a 97 Beyer Speed Figure for Saturday's run.

The win paid 50 per share.
So just to be up front I bought a share for 127.00 I have seen 520 dollars returned to me not counting the expected 450 stated above.
There are still performance bonuses on the table, Earnings on Races, and a small percentage of stud fees.
STG is by far the best performer...
Straight no Chaser is about 1/3 of return
One fast Dream was about 2/3 return
Show your cards was about 4/5 return ( Insurance) as he was cast in his stall and ended up in horse heaven.
The rest of the horses I have had are not even close.... But as the old saying goes..... Sharing time with my dad and mom( they live in a different town) watching the horses is Awesome! Winning the "Preakness" Priceless!! Not that I discount any other race or horse I have had the luck to win with! and share a winning moment with my dad especially!!Comment
