I just can't see Toledo losing this game even with one of their top linebackers out for disciplinary reasons. NIU's defense won't hold Toledo while I can see Toledo holding NIU on a bunch of series. Granted, NIU will score but I doubt they can keep pace. NIU has the edge with the 16th ranked scoring offense while Toledo is ranked 20th. Total defense at 99th and 45th, respectively. Rush offense for NIU is 11th and 35th for Toledo. Rush defense for NIU ranked 96th and 28th for Toledo. Toledo dominated a very good Temple rush attack and held star RB Bernard Pierce to 75 yds. I can see similar results as they key in on Chandler Harnish. If they can contain him, it'll be a long day for NIU. If not, it'll be a tight race as both teams fight for a respective final berth for the MAC West. Toledo is 4th in the nation while NIU is at a respective 32nd in turnover margin. A turnover or two may give the decided edge here vs the spread either way. SOS favors Toledo ranked 10th in the nation w/ NIU at 107th. Toledo has been consistent most of the year while NIU hasn't. Toledo 3-1 ATS @ home and NIU 0-4 ATS away. Toledo 5-3 ATS and NIU 3-5 in 2011. Nationally televised game should negate most of the effects of a 5 hr bus ride, but fatigue may be a factor in the 2nd half for the visitors. Everything points to Toledo and giving the pts in my mind.
