    First post of picks
    Hello all,

Came across this board while looking for a new book thanks to our great "DOJ". Have not had time to post until today and for the week I am 1-1. Should have done more research on Cincy. I was surprised at their team speed. Did have Rutgers last night to start off two parlays for the day. Anyway here are my picks. GL to all and thanks for a very informative site.

'BAMA ML -160 I can not remember the last time Vandy was a single digit 'dog in this game and typically Vandy has been my choice for this match-up. Vandy is solid on both sides of the ball with Nickson leading the offense. I also like the fact that they have all five returning starter on the O line. You also can not forget All SEC wideout Bennett. Defensively the two weaknesses I see are on the line and a young secondary, the later of the two should be much improved. Because of these two areas I see as a weakness, has me on 'Bama. They return all 5 O-linemen who will outweigh Vandy's front by as much as 50 lbs. on average. 'Bama returns 9 starters on that side of the ball including two of the better wideouts in the SEC in Hall and Brown. Considering the youth of the secondary for Vandy, I think these two along with Wilson back at QB, the match-ups favor 'Bama. Defensively for 'Bama my concern is their DL as it is very young and looks to start two or more true freshman. They are solid in the secondary and in the middle but will rely on two new OLB's. The bottom line for me in this game is Saban. He will not let his team get down for this game because it is Vandy. This is a game where Saban and 'Bama can make a statement against a very underrated Vandy team.

Missouri -6 Missouri was lucky to get by a very young, talented and underrated Illinois team last week. Offensively they return 9 starters from a year ago and should be much improved. Defensively they lost quite a few players from an average squad at best last year. They brought in some outstanding JUCO players who I think will eventually make this unit better than last year. Ole Miss was very lucky to have won last week as well. As it was their defense who and special teams who secured the win. A blocked punt for a TD and a 99 yard INT for a score. Even considering this I still feel Ole Miss's D to be a weak unit. Missouri's offense is far superior to Memphis and much more experienced. Even though Ole Miss returns 9 starters as well on offense this year, QB play will once again be a concern. Miss. has the clear size advantage on the O-line but not sure that is enough to help their QB situation.

Georgia ML This is why I love SEC football. Too bad I like to gamble more as this should be a game to just sit back and enjoy. But like most, I seem to be only able to enjoy a game when money is on the line. This whole match-up is Georgia's offense vs. South Carolina's defense IMHO. For whatever reason SC just can not seem to get over the hump when it comes to playing the top SEC teams. They played all of their SEC games close last year but until this team clears that hurdle I am going with the home team, even though on paper SC may be the better team. I think in college football emotion and home field play a very big part in the outcome of games and this is a perfect game for that.

Auburn -6.5 This is just a hunch play. If this line was higher I would lean towards South Florida. This game will be a battle of defensive units and if I had a better read on the how the new kick-off rules are going to affect games I would go for the under in the game. Auburn is home again this week and won last week because of their defense and will do the same this week. This unit will win the battle of field position for their offense which will give them an edge in the scoring department. SF is certainly the "feel good" play much like Oklahoma St. was last week and this will be enough to have Auburn up for this home game.

For a small play and no long explanation here is a 7 point teaser I like for today: Michigan, Nebraska, Air Force, UCLA and New Mexico.
