Yes. I usually wait till I see the weigh-ins Friday afternoon so I can make my final plays/buy back/change things/etc...

I have some plays on Maia, Stout, and Young so far. Still looking at Nunes for a possible small play. Need to see lines on Head and Omigawa so I can determine any bets on them.

Has certainly crept up into value range. Weidman is still pretty raw and this is his first fight in a big event, could be upset of the night

You could just see the inexperience against Sakara. His striking defense was nonexistent. I'm sure he has improved, but he is so green that I think there is a possibility that he makes a big mistake and gets caught. Plus I'm not going to play Nunes so I'm taking a chance with this one instead.

His inexperience in the realm of striking was obvious in the Sakara fight, but despite his clunky striking, i thought he exhibited excellent defense on his feet. Sakara came out looking sharp as ever, throwing beautiful combinations with his hands and punctuated a lot of them with solid leg kicks.... but did you see a single punch land cleanly? did Weidman appear hurt or stunned by strikes for even a second?

Sakara wasnt able to land anything solid, with the exception of his leg kicks. And even then, the powerful kicks seemed to have little effect on weidman. With someone as raw as Weidman, you can only expect that his stand up will show improvement. Hopefully he doesnt find too much confidence in it, and sticks to his bread and butter.

I don't remember seeing Weidman move or duck at all on the feet. No head movement, only going into a shell to block punches type of defense on the feet.

I dont think you can judge it like that; "not pretty" does not equal to "not effective".

Utilizing a shell type defense, and getting through Sakara with it is impressive.
It's not like he just covers up and closes his eyes. His "shell" is not stationary. He was well aware of where the strikes were coming from, and made slight rolling movements to ensure punches wouldn't slip through his guard.

HOFF - I have a question for you since you are the king of the SF plays. Do you think Werdum is being a little underrated for this fight? I see him at +290 at 5 dimes. I'm thinking about making a small play even though I think the Reem will take it. What are your thoughts on that?

If i was going to make a play on Werdum, it would be Werdum by submission.

Sorry I didn't get back to you. I was volunteering for the past week and did not have access to a computer.

I have to agree that the only way I can see Werdum winning is a submission. I don't see how he gets it to the ground though. The only way Overeem ends up in his guard is if he follows him to the ground after knocking him down.

Gassed out against Forrest Petz but did enough to win a decision. Got quick submission wins over Guymon and Soto - two guys who I actually expected him to lose to. I don't think he's a long-termer in the UFC.
