just got kimura sub, jones/gust starte rnd 2, n barao/wineland starts rnd 2 in a parlay, n kimura sotn at moment.
like most of those pics. Not thrilled with the prelims (betting them that is) I think Ricci has a real shot. Won't have to worry about a take down and he has nice hands. Jury also does but it seems to bother him when a guy has them too. Worth a shot especially with ur money

Talk to me about Ricci.
Maybe it's the hog analysis gone terribly wrong between thick veiny Michael's Johnson versus the thinly peckered Miles Jewry, but I just envisioned Miles shooting for TDs on Ricci and winning from top control. What am I missing here? Is Ricci's sprawl good enough to stuff TDs and keep it competitive on the feet?

You are not missing anything. Jury should win. However, Jury has been as high as -420. He should not be a 4 to 1 fav. in my opinion. In fact I have a very tiny bit on Jury. But, I can understand why someone would take Ricci @ big dog $. The outcome of the fight hinges on Ricci's take down defense. If it were a straight up kickboxing match I would favor Ricci. If Myles can take Ricci down on the regular than it is going to be a very long (or short he could get sub'd) night for Ricci.

I guess I don't understand how his TDD could not constantly improve. He works with Rory on the regular & I'm sure he gets help from GSP as well. If your take down defense does not improve at Tri Star then God help you. Because you're going to need it.

you aren't missing anything brah, Im retarded and wrote Ricci, when I actually think Jury is quite rightly a big favourite! I think Jury wins this approximately 79.8735% of the time! Ricci would have to hit +600 or something silly for me to play him after his performance against the Clown-Can!

LOL @ Clown-Can. I was really banking that the sweettooth-looking mofo had a better than 33% chance of transforming into a flame-throwing vehicle. Sigh.

Jury is a phenomenon. He's got world-class timing, and he is one of the most well-rounded guys ever to compete in MMA. He has stellar movement, times his takedowns beautifully, and has an incredibly analytical approach to the game. He can time Ricci and take him down all night.
Not sure if I want to pay -360 or whatever on him, but I'm considering it.

What do you guys think of Makdessi/Forte? I see Forte bull rushing forward and trying to take Makdessi down nonstop. Obviously Makdessis standup is much better. Forte was able to make this gameplan work on Etim but that is probably because he was coming off a really long layoff and is such a tall rangy fighter that he needs range to strike effectively. Forte pressured him very well. Makdessi has good movement and seems to have improved his takedown defense since getting man handled by Hallman. I am worried that Forte might be able to do what Hallman did. My reasons for thinking that he will not are as follows: Hallman is probably a better wrestler and grappler than Forte and Makdessi has surely improved his takedown defense since then. I read interviews with him and he frequently talks about how all of his training camps revolve around trying to improve his overall game, including wrestling. Forte seems to have a sort of bullish technique to his takedowns, I think that is something Makdessi can exploit if Forte tries to rush him for takedowns every round. I guess the worst possible scenario is Forte can actually get him down and get him in a bad position. He should have a solid advantage there with his black belt in BJJ. Anyone have thoughts or opinions on this?

Also, please someone chime in on this. Where does everyone see the overall grappling ability of Nurmagomedov and Pat Healy? Nurma is a naga and sambo champ. Healy wrestled D2 in college and has obviously submitted a lot of dudes(15). Healy lost the standup to Jim miller and then wore him out for the submission win using wrestling + size. An impressive win I didn't think he would get. Anyways, Nurma Vs Healy. Anyone have a breakdown?

Healy is too good to pass up at +210.
-Nurma is smaller and had a questionable cut.
-Nurma has never fought a grinder like Healy, or an American wrestler for that matter.
-Healy is entering his prime and has been on a tear.
-Nurma is undefeated on paper but if you watch some of his fights, they've been extremely close. Gleison Tibau easily beat him at UFC 148 (Most MMA sites had it 30-27 for Tibau on their score cards) but the judges managed to fudge the decision.

That Tibau fight is entirely a matter of criteria. You could argue either fighter dominating the fight depending on what you score more heavily. I had it 30-27 Tibau when I first watched, and I had it 29-28 Tibau when I rewatched a few days ago. I wouldn't argue with 29-28 Nurmagomedov, though. I think that's a fair score too.
Also, Khabib by KO.

I could see 29-28 Tibau or 30-28 Tibau...but I'd have a hard time giving that fight to Nurma.
Healy could easily lose tonight, but there is too much value at +210.

I have the opposite. I think there's value on Khabib at -230. 'Capped him closer to -400. Healy is likely going to look like a fish out of water tonight, in my opinion.
