#11345Adding:
Dude is slow and cumbersome as fuuck and striking sucks but he could grind on Whittaker and steal rounds. Whittaker is a great prospect and probably going to show big improvements every fight - especially now that he is spending time at Zahabi's, but I think he may still be a bit of a rough-diamond and a bit too raw. We've seen it before with young/youngish hyped prospects facing more experienced fighters as favourites and end up being grinded on and failing under the pressure. Examples such as Erick Silva (-160) against Fitch, Hathaway (-450) against Pyle, Brandao (-300) against Elkins, Poirier (-145) against Swanson, etc... Obviously some of these are not perfect examples as the competition may be tougher than somebody like McGee, but still the point is that it's not unusual for hyped prospects to suddenly be brought back down to earth despite being technically superior. Experience, grit and determination can be a big leveler in this sport!8/28/13 5:48pm $100.00 $160.00 Pending 8/28/13 9:00pm Reduced Fighting 1302 Court McGee +160* vs Robert Whittaker Comment -

#11346I am interested to watch Thatch. GSP loves the guy. 6 out of his 9 wins have come in less than a minute, all of finished in the first round. He had an insane following for a guy on a local circuit. A lot of the other gyms secretly do not like the guy because they say he hasn't beaten anybody yet. Will be interesting for sure.Comment -

#11356About time somebody had the ballz to say it (even if only messing around)! So annoying when somebody starts to tell a story or something and Rogan just interjects and goes off at a tangent about something random like Bigfoot but-penetrating an ape whilst on DMT!
And surely it can't just be "Alpha Brain" that makes Ludwig so hyper like that?! Dude was reasonably chilled out for first 30 minutes or so, then suddenly just went on a speed-talking frenzy! He must of done a line or 2 off-camera whilst Rogan was creaming over Marcelo Garcia's guillotine or something!!!Last edited by Vaughany; 08-29-13, 05:06 AM.Comment -

#11364Great night V, good job on Court by the way. I expected Whittaker to bludgeon him so much that he gave up on pushing such a strong pace after the first round. Which he sort of did, but few people are tougher than Court. Whittaker has a pretty solid gastank though, McGee could gas out just about anyone. McGee vs Condit would look like a flyweight fight.Comment -

#11369Don't post here much but I read a decent amount. Wanted to hear some opinions on what looks like two good fights. 1. Varner v Tibau: (already have a pretty strong lean) and 2. Koch v Poirier: Bet Koch early at -140 but am having second thoughts after rewatching some of their fights. Thanks in advance.Comment -

tibau is shop worn. This is his 50th fight. As long as Jamie can stop one round o takedowns he should out box him. Also Jamie can't gas either. He has posted on twitter that the weight cut has been easy and his diet is awesome.
I like Koch here. Much better striking and trains with a great group of guys. Poirer gets hit too much for my liking and he won't have a size advantage here which he has has versus Korean zombie or the grappling advantages like he did versus hollowayComment -

#11375Agree with beelze on both sides.
yeah Varner should in theory have boxing advantage and speed advantage. I also saw a photo on his facebook a couple weeks ago where he had his knee wrapped up in ice and was moaning about injuries or something...probably just a normal training stress tho. One of his buddies also died whilst training with him, doesnt seem to have effected his camp tho
KOch fighting in home town, better technical striker, dangerous guard, probably better cardio (Poirier seems to always tire after round 2). Poirier is always hyped so hoping he gets some action and line improves for KochComment
