I will be out of touch for the next 5 hrs or so with work obligations. I am riding out the tigers under because I think the rain should not affect this game and because verlander is more than capable of pitching deep into this game. As an fyi, I just added another ncaaf play for saturday. Good luck today guys!

Doh, I was driving and than remembered that they have only played one game in Detroit. Well, if the series is extended, my "informant" will still be in place. LOL!

I agree that Wells is overpaid but I wouldn't consider 32 old?? Napoli is 30 himself. Texas (via Tor) made out nicely but all I'm saying is Wells is a little better than "pretty much nothing?"
Alright, I see your point. Maybe I shouldn't have equated Wells to being "nothing". 32 is getting up there in age, especially in the post steroids era. Though I think HGH use is pervasive in baseball and other sports right now.

As for the trade, I distinctly remember the guys on the baseball prospectus podcast being flabbergasted at the trade and criticizing it strongly. They jokingly suggested that it seemed like the Angels made the move because just to make one (lots of big moves made last season, my White Sox's move being a complete and utter failure so far)

Alright, Justin... settle down now. It would be really nice for Lewis to come out strong this inning.

Easily... not saying Dunn is done by any stretch but this year was terrible.

That is the trade off, not many of the big bopper hitters are very spry in the fielding department.

Yeah it looked really close, similar to the Inge homerun last night. However if timed correctly looked like he could have pulled a Torii Hunter and robbed him.

Yikes, Verlander looks really really strained out there. I hope that Leyland considers getting a starter ready to relieve if needed. Weird, that 4-3 score Fox had up threw me off.

We still have runs to play with....certainly we are swimming upstream though at this point. Verlander close to 100 pitches through 5....curious who is in the Detroit contingency plan with no Benoit and Valverde......

Wilson is throwing absolute garbage! Might as well let me pitch the rest of this inning.

Delmon Young just smashed a ball out of the park. 6-2 to Detroit.

Just got home from work and saw what happened in the game...wow, the cycle in one inning. Good play bad result. We beat the closer pretty considerably, but the game just fell apart late.

I had a crazy day at work and will have the same thing tomorrow so I won't be around too much. Going to look into tomorrow's games now. What does everyone like for tomorrow?

Really? Grienke hasn't been good on the road this year, especially in a hostile environment like St. Louis. He has a speech impediment, and a social anxiety issue - I'm pretty sure he'll have a stroke before the 5th.

I dont really see how the speech impediment will affect him on the mound?

Things run alot smoother wen you can converse w/ your catcher & infielders & coaches....

I have never heard about him having a speech impediment, and he has been on medication and therapy for the anxiety disorder. It hasn't been an issue since KC. Lots of players have anxiety/depression, in fact I would not be surprised if it is higher in that population than it is normally.

(I've been following the guy's successes and failures for a few years as a fantasy manager). He still has to prove it to me. Laid a play on the StL over 3 1/2 at -120 ... slightly juicy but not too bad. Need a hit to make up for yesterday's 0-2. Good luck everybody!

I don't think is a major concern enough to sway a bet but it could come into play. One mistake because of a communication misunderstanding & a guy like Pujols or Holliday can turn this series real quick?? It's minor but i don't think its something u want to ignore all together imo
