Sorry to anyone who tailed tonight. This was a crazy night. KC was winning 7-3 in the bottom of the 9th and lost. One of the top ten all time worst bad beats of life. Plus, you had the Braves winning 6-0 in the bottom of the eighth and they give up 2 so we lose the under by the hook and Balty scores two runs in the bottom of the tenth inning to blow the push in that game. Just a rough day. We've been on a run, but other than a few games, have not been winning with lucky plays. For the most part, we have had quite a few easy wins. Therefore, to get so much bad luck in one day is tough...hopefully this means some good luck is right around the corner and we win our next big play after trailing by FOUR RUNS in the bottom of the 9th....oh well, what can we do. Onto tomorrow....

I can handle the bad days cos they are obviously a given.. but days like these losing numerous 'unloseable' games really do hurt! Especially when in 1 day you give back 2-3 days of great work!

Just kidding, I don't disagree that this is a good spot for the Royals. I guess the question is where their heads are after such a tough loss. I mean, for us, we were devastated losing that one....think how the players actually feel. I don't know, I just can't back the Royals here on the ML. However, my model has the under as a solid play so I will be playing the total in that one. Good luck in whatever you decide to play.

I think it's a tough spot for the Royals today. Duffy has an era of almost 6 on the road, and Niemann has been on fire lately. Not to mention he is 3-0 against the Royals with an era under 2

KC/TB under (8.5)(-115) 1x (Locked)

Duffy's numbers suggest he is starting to hit his stride. The guy has quality stuff and his advanced stats have improved month to month, peaking in July and regressing a bit recently, but still solid. Niemann has FIP, xFIP, tERA and SIERA all in the mid to high 3's. Both pitchers have solid K% in the 19% range and a GB/FB around 1.1. Even though I predicted the Royals offensive success yesterday, I think we see them struggle a bit today against Niemann. On the other side, even though TB hits lefties well, I think we see Duffy help his team respond from a tough loss and keep the game close. I have this one set at 7.8 so I think we have some value here. Plus, the game is in the Trop and the ump has a solid under lean and high strike rate. Finally, Duffy has never faced the TB lineup giving him a bit of an advantage and Niemmann has pitched very well against KC in the past so I am rolling with the under for 1x.

SD/Mets under (7.5)(-115) 1x (Locked)

I am going to give Luebke one more shot to prove himself to me. I am 1-2 in games taking him on the under but I expect that to be 2-2 after today. He faces a Mets lineup that has never faced him before and one that is weakened despite their success in this series. On the other side, Niese faces a SD lineup that he has pitched well against in the past and is generally not well respected but hot of late. Both pitchers sport very solid FIP, xFIP, tERA and SIERA scores from the high 2's to low 3's. Both have K% over 20% (with Luebke set to regress at 27%) and Niese rocks a 1.8 GB/FB to Luebke's 1.1. The ump has no lean but a 63.5% strike rate which is good enough for me. The weather is projected to have wind blowing in from left field. I think we see two young left handers face off to a nice pitcher's duel and I'm rolling with the under for 1x.

We are playing a lot of juiced totals, but we really don't have a choice as I expect all of the prices on these unders to get worse. In this game, both Gallardo and Carpenter come into this game off generally solid performances over their last six games or so. They are gearing up for the playoff chase and pitching well. Both have very solid advanced stats but weaker histories against these particular offenses. Even with that poor history, I think we see a low scoring, intense game with playoff like intensity. I have this one set right at 7, but I feel this one ends at 3-2 type game. Both teams have improved their bullpens at the trade deadline and are fighting for NL Central dominance. This is a classic spot for the under end the ump has a solid under lean (even though his strike rate is low he has leaned to the under very heavily the last two years with a neutral lean before that). Finally, the wind is expected to not be a factor but will be blowing in at Busch Stadium which is generally more of a pitcher's park. I am rolling with the under here for 1x.

I also have a strong lean on the A's/Jays over and may lock that in as well. Good luck to everyone today!
