I sort of like the Twins, but hate fading Felix.
No opinion on Cubs/Brew.

I liked the Marlins but Stanton is sitting. Vogelsong is a flyball pitcher who doesn't get many strike outs and the there's a 15 mph wind blowing out to right center... But Marlins TTU and under are juiced and the line moved.

Books have been really slow to adjust on Detroit and Oakland lines. They have to just be taking a beating with these teams lately.
2-4, -2.9U yesterday
123-121, +6.77U thread
The bleeding continues. Again, I've never figured out why the highs are so high and the lows are so low when it comes to my baseball plays. I go on heaters like none other for extended periods of time, then out of nowhere, I look like BJ Upton at the plate. I don't experience this in any other sport nearly as much. I know I make more plays obviously, but I still wouldn't expect such extremes. But that's typically the way it goes.

I hope you agree with me on this, but sports betting should be about surviving the season-long grind rather than just trying to hit the jackpot quick and easy. You sized your units at the point where you can withstand these streaks and still feel comfortable grinding it out with more plays. I think that is a lesson many of us need to learn first and foremost before any handicapping angles or strategies. Ironically, this is one of those concepts that fit the "you won't know not to play with fire until you've been burned" scenario. I myself have barely learned the lesson...
Couldn't agree more, and this is an important post to read. From my experiences, in baseball, if you chase when you hit a cold spell, you really bury yourself. Baseball can drive you crazy if you aren't careful. I've dropped a ton of games this week of the one-run and fluke play variety. I'd make almost all of the plays at their respective odds if I had it to do over again, but almost none of them cashed and I have no choice but to deal with it.

This is so true - I don't bet much bases but in football I can absolutely bury a great season in one weekend chasing. In reality - if you ever are going to chase - it should be when your on a heater. We all double down after a tough loss - f that - double down after some wins - its counter intuitive (why give back profits) which is why chasing losses should be even more counter intuitive. I laugh at myself all the time - I will bet team A +7. They will be down by 21 at half and will be a pick second half. So then I will say - huh - I can't be that far off right? Double down at them +21 for the game. Both lose, I double my losses on a game that was a loser from the start. Long way of saying it happens to all of us - your on a cold streak and still up on the year - lot to be said about that!! Well done so far NC!!

Over 500+ bets, you're bound to have a couple of streaks, one way or the other, where baskets and football you're probably sitting at 100-200 or so bets per season. Also all your football bets are made on weekends, so 10 bets on one day will be harder to have a terrible day than 5 or so in MLB. It could also be that you wager more per bet in MLB than in the other sports (ie a higher percent of your bets are 2-5u). Anyway shit happens.
I'm leaning Milwaukee today. They're sitting at +114 at heritage, i was hoping for +120 or so. I'll definitely put a unit on it beforehand, might also try adding a bit in-game.

I lean Cincy (even with their depleted lineup), Cleveland and Milwaukee.
As I said, I expect streaks, but for some reason, I go on a lot of extended hot and cold streaks both in bases.

Assuming it's still 1-0 after 2.5 innings, I'm putting in my live wager on the brewers. They're at +195 after the first inning. bottom of the orders coming up in the second, I'm guessing +225 or +250

I just can't read the Braves. I suppose that's what happens when you're trying to cap two Uptons, an Uggla and just a shitload of strikeouts and horrific at-bats. This team is horribly structured, yet when they get "hot" at the plate (i.e., hitting a bunch of longballs), they can look better than they actually are.

I can't for the life of me figure out why the Tigers ever put Phil Coke in a game, let alone leave him in for another inning in a tie game (obv I'm on Detroit tonight).

Hopefully this is a slump buster. Way harder than it needed to be; Tribe stranded 14 runners. When your confidence is shaken, though, nothing comes easy.
