What will happen with cards/PADRES line?
Currently it's more or less cardinals -140/+135.

Will the public be dazzled by those big St. Louis bats and the differential in the regular season records, and put their money down and move that line even more lop-sided?

Or will people realize that Morris has been struggling and that Woody Williams is quite a bit better at home than away.

I'm not asking what will happen in the game. I'm asking about bettor psychology and what will happen leading up to the game.

I'm thinking there will be more Cards money and that line will move, maybe to -150 or more.

You would have to believe most public money will be with St. Louis.

I would say that the line will go up by game time to about -150 as mentioned. But my bold prediction of the day is: Padres win this one. I think Morris is on his last leg and Woody would like nothing better than to show his old mates that he's still got it. I would say there are 3 pitchers in the entire league that know the Cards hitters real well and Woody Williams is one of them. So, tomorrow, when the score is STL 10 SD 0, just remember you heard it hear first so fade my prediction to your heart's content.

Shortly after I started this thread, the power went out here and stayed out for 7 hours. That was handy in the middle of a Saturday.

Anyway it doesn't look like the line has done much. If anything, it has moved slightly against my prediction. I'm seeing Cards -135/+132.

          Dunno what's up with that.

I don't think it has moved at all to be honest. Pinnacle has been hovering between 138-141 during the evening. Mansion (well the money being put up by Mansion themselves) has been stuck at -140 all night.

Well Woody got spanked and left before pitching 2 innings. Middle of the 2nd and the Cards are 5-0 up.

Fade of the night. I am happy because the Cards won but shocked that Woody got beat up the way he did.

All the sharp money was on San Diego and sharp money is not always right. Line got hit down to -135 at one time. As an ex baseball player I know Woody is not that good and got lucky with the win last night.

Woody has had a sore arm the last few years but SD doing a good job hiding it,

Woody didn't win. St. Louis did.
