As you can tell by my post -- which I made before I read this -- I wholeheartedly agree. It's embarrassing that this team will fail not once, but now twice under Gibbons' "direction." Will they bring him back again in seven years for a third try?

The Cards are on a roll but every time I look at the standings they're only 1.5 games up on the Reds and Pirates.

It feels like they should be running away with the division the way they're playing....

I think the Royals can keep it close in a 3-2/4-3 type fashion. Mendoza's better than his start would indicate, and I still think Lynn is in for some regression -- especially against KC's comatose left-handed bats.
