LAS VEGAS, NEVADA - DECEMBER 11: Dominick Cruz exits the arena after his unanimous decision victory over Pedro Munhoz of Brazil in their bantamweight? fight during the UFC 269 event at T-Mobile Arena on December 11, 2021 in Las Vegas, Nevada. A high-profile bantamweight clash between former champion Dominick Cruz and the surging Marlon Vera headlines a fun night of fights when the UFC returns to California on Saturday night for UFC Fight Night San Diego. Read on for our top UFC parlay picks.

One of the finest pound-for-pound fighters to ever don a pair of four ounce gloves, Cruz is hoping to stay healthy and notch his third win in a row. The former bantamweight overlord posted a pair of victories in 2021, his first two-win year since 2016.

Blending venomous grappling, terrifying fight-ending power, and an iron chin, Vera heads into his showdown with Cruz on a three-fight winning streak, dispatching Davey Grant, Rob Font, and former lightweight kingpin Frankie Edgar.

Also on the card: David Onama will try to extend his winning streak to three when he takes on Nate Landwehr, while grappling wizard Gerald Meerschaert battles the powerful Bruno Silva.

Here are my top parlay picks for UFC Fight Night San Diego (odds via DraftKings Sportsbook).

Top UFC San Diego Parlay Predictions

Cruz vs. Vera to go to decision (-165)

Although he’s one of the greatest fighters to ever grace the Octagon, Cruz isn’t known for his scintillating stoppages. A cerebral fighter who uses feints, angles, and constant movement to befuddle his opponents, “The Dominator” hasn’t finished a fight since 2014, and 16 of his 24 career victories have gone to the judges' scorecards.

Vera, on the other hand, is a venomous finisher, but I don’t think he gets it done inside the distance on Saturday night. The famously elusive Cruz has only been finished twice in his illustrious, 27-fight career.

Silva (-285)

Barring a classic Meerschaert come-from-behind miracle submission, this fight is Silva’s to lose. “Blindado” hits harder, is more accurate, and throws at a higher volume. Meerschaert is a notoriously slow starter, and that won’t serve him well against a dangerous striker like Silva.

I expect Silva to avoid engaging in grappling exchanges against “GM3,” and will instead unleash some ultraviolence early en route to a KO/TKO victory.

Onama via KO/TKO/DQ (+110)

Quite simply, Onama hits hard and Landwehr is a little too hittable. Six of Onama’s 10 victories have come via KO/TKO, and he lands 5.61 significant strikes per minute. Landwehr actually lands more significant strikes per minute (6.51), but he also absorbs nearly six significant strikes per minute and has been stopped by strikes twice inside the Octagon.

If Landwehr is goaded into a brawl with Onama, he’ll likely be roasted with something nasty and banished to the shadow realm.
