Messi scored his seventh goal of the World Cup against Cape Verde, also setting new highs in shots on goal (6) and total shots (9). Will Egypt be able to slow Messi down, or is he destined for another outstanding performance?

‼️ THE MOST IMPORTANT NOTE ON THIS GAME

Egypt has allowed just one goal in every game at this World Cup, but Argentina's offense is the best the Egyptians have faced by a lot. Messi is playing at an incredibly high level right now, and after the scare from Cape Verde, Argentina won't be taking Egypt lightly.

Egypt's defense has slowed down a lot of average offenses, but I don't think they're going to find he same result here.

πŸ’° Best Lionel Messi prop prediction

Lionel Messi 3+ shots on target vs. Egypt (+110)

After six shots on goal against Cape Verde, Messi now has 15 shots on target in four World Cup matches. He also has at least four shots on net in all three games that he started.

The Egyptians have allowed 13 shots on goal at this World Cup, despite only facing one team that you could really consider offensive-minded. Considering Egypt allowed five shots on target to New Zealand, I don't see how they can slow down Messi, who has gotten shots up at will in this tournament.

💵 SBR Edge: Messi is incredibly consistent

Not only has Messi been consistent at this World Cup, but he's also been very consistent with Inter Miami CF in the build-up to this World Cup. Though the competition is inferior to what he will face in Egypt's defense, he still has at least three shots on goal in five of his last seven matches with his club.

πŸ”₯ More Lionel Messi props for Tuesday

Lionel Messi 6+ shots vs. Egypt (+110)

Messi isn't only putting a lot of shots on target, but he's also putting up a lot of shots in general. He has 24 through four games, with at least six in all three games he started. His nine shots in his last game were more than he took in any match during the most recent World Cup qualifying and Copa America.

Egypt has allowed 52 shots at this World Cup, giving up 15 on two different occasions. Only New Zealand wasn't able to put up 14 or more shots. Argentina won't be taking anyone for granted after that Cape Verde match, which means I expect Messi to be on the attack for the vast majority of this game.

Lionel Messi to have 2 or more shots on goal in the 1st half vs. Egypt (+330)

Despite all of his opportunities against Cape Verde, Messi only managed to score once. Still, Messi has scored in all four games at this World Cup, so it's not surprising to see the price for him to score at -170 or worse at the best sports betting sites. While that is worth playing, I also love the price for him to score twice.

Egypt has allowed one goal in all four World Cup matches, but Argentina is easily the best offensive team they have faced thus far. Messi already has multiple goals in two matches at this tournament, and frankly, it's a bit of a miracle that he didn't score multiple times against Cape Verde, considering some of the chances he had.
