The Reds travel to Austria with an inexperienced team, which factors into my LASK vs. Liverpool prediction.

Liverpool are the clear -330 betting favorite for Wednesday’s Champions League match (12:45 ET, Paramount+) despite a litany of injuries to their attacking corps. Despite those injuries, I’m backing them to secure all three points in a somewhat low-scoring affair.

Liverpool ML & Under 4.5 goals (-114 via BetMGM)

Despite injuries to Alexander Isak and Dominik Szoboszlai, the class difference between Liverpool and LASK should be enough for the visitors to secure all three points.

While LASK are third in the Austrian Bundesliga, they have dipped recently and are winless in four matches.

Liverpool were in excellent form before falling 3-0 to a seemingly invincible Manchester City side last weekend. Before that match, the Reds had won four of their previous five and were undefeated in seven in all competitions.

LASK should remain competitive, but I expect a 2-0 Liverpool victory.

📡 SBR Edge - Mounting offensive injuries

Liverpool may have recently brought Bradley Barcola into the mix, but the injury report is large: Dominik Szoboszlai is expected to miss with a hamstring injury, Cody Gakpo also is expected to be absent with an ankle injury, and star striker Alexander Isak is unlikely to factor into the mix with a thigh injury.

Of course, the team is also without Huge Ekitike until the new year as he rehabs an Achilles tendon injury.

It leaves Koumas expected up top, and the young Ngumoha expected on the wing.

Under 3.5 goals (-110 via FanDuel)

Despite Liverpool’s talent and depth, they don’t have many goals without Isak, Szoboszlai, and the rest of the injured reserve. Alexis Mac Allister has two goals, and Victor Muñoz, who probably won’t start, has one.

The rest of the team haven't scored this season. The Under 3.5 goals looks particularly good when you combine Liverpool’s lack of offensive weapons with a LASK team that scored one or fewer in three of the previous four games.
