The only remaining team with an unblemished record travels to Anfield in Sunday’s showcase Premier League match (11:30 a.m. ET, NBC), and I’m backing both teams to leave with a share of the spoils in my Liverpool vs. Man City prediction.

Man City are the betting favorite despite playing away. With my best bet, I’m focusing on Erling Haaland, who has been one of the most profitable plays in recent seasons.

Erling Haaland anytime goal (+120 via BetMGM)

Any time I see Haaland with plus-money odds to score a goal, I jump on it like Gianluigi Donnarumma on a rebound.

Haaland has five goals in as many Premier League encounters this season, and he’s tied atop the goal-scorer charts with Chelsea’s Joao Pedro. The towering Norwegian enters the match on a four-game scoring streak, netting three goals in the previous two away matches.

He has only 4.43 expected goals, showing just how ruthless he is when an opportunity presents itself. And he’s scored in the last two meetings with Liverpool.

🆚 Who will win Liverpool vs. Man City?

I’m backing a 1-1 draw at Anfield. Despite coughing up six points thus far, Liverpool are undefeated through five matches. Their three draws are tied for second-most, and they’ll be at their best against a Man City side due for a minor blip.

Score prediction: Liverpool 1, Man City 1

Under 2.5 goals

I know oddsmakers expect three goals or more, which is understandable given the talent on display. Recent history also suggests the Over, with the previous three meetings seeing at least three goals.

However, Liverpool’s previous three matches had two goals or fewer. And prior to their last two matches, which had more goals than England has footy pitches, City had three straight games with two goals or fewer.

I’m also leaning on the gravity and heightened importance of the match, which I believe will lend itself to a tight defensive battle.
