New Jersey Devils center Jack Hughes ranks among the NHL’s elite in shot metrics, and he headlines our top shot-prop picks for Thursday's 11-game slate.

Chasing down the best available odds is important in every betting market, and Barstool Sportsbook is offering the best numbers on nearly every player's shot total Thursday. Additionally, it has more players available to bet on than other books. A true win-win.

Here are our top NHL shot-prop picks for Thursday (odds via Barstool Sportsbook; pick confidence is based on a 1-to-5-star scale).

NHL Shot Prop Predictions

Hughes Over 3.5 (-125) ★★★★

New Jersey Devils center Jack Hughes ranks seventh in shots and ninth in attempts per 60 minutes this season, and there’s nothing scary about Thursday’s date with the Nashville Predators.

Despite winning six of their past 10 games, the Preds are allowing the ninth-most shot attempts per 60 minutes during that stretch. Additionally, New Jersey has caved in opponents on home ice with a 58.1 Corsi For percentage at five-on-five.

Hughes has also sailed Over this 3.5 shot total in four consecutive games and nine of 12 contests at Prudential Center this season. The odds at Barstool are also considerably better than what’s available through DraftKings Sportsbook (-150), FanDuel Sportsbook (-154), and Caesars Sportsbook (-158).

Robertson Over 3.5 (-137) ★★★

The MVP buzz is building for Dallas Stars winger Jason Robertson, and he lands in a cushy matchup with the Anaheim Ducks on Thursday. Anaheim ranks 29th in Corsi For percentage at five-on-five when adjusted for score and venue, and the Ducks have also allowed the most shots and fifth-most attempts per 60 minutes this season.

Robertson is lined up for a bounce-back showing in the shots column, too. Prior to registering just a single shot on goal during Monday’s 4-1 win over the St. Louis Blues, the fourth-year winger had cleared this 3.5 total in 11 consecutive games while totaling 61 shots and 97 attempts.

This is also another example of Barstool offering notably better odds than any of our other top-rated sportsbooks. The next best price for Robertson to go Over 3.5 shots is -155 via DraftKings.

Sheary Over 1.5 (-106) ★★★

It’s rare to find a 1.5-shot total with odds so close to even money, especially when it's attached to a top-line forward. Washington Capitals winger Connor Sheary has settled in with center Dylan Strome and winger Alex Ovechkin of late, and the trio has driven five-on-five possession with a 54.5 Corsi For percentage this season.

This isn’t an easy matchup, as the Seattle Kraken have surrendered the fourth-fewest shot attempts per 60 minutes. Still, Sheary ranks third on the Capitals in shots over the past five games, and he’s coming off a five-shot showing during Tuesday’s 5-1 win over the Vancouver Canucks.

I also envision Sheary having extra space and time Thursday with the Kraken placing extra emphasis on attempting to hold Ovechkin in check.
