The Buffalo Sabres look to get back on track in Montreal after dropping two straight against the Canadiens to fall behind 2-1 in their second-round playoff series.

My Sabres vs. Canadiens prediction for Game 4 includes picking a winner, offering my best bet, and backing a top player prop. Puck drop is at 7 p.m. ET on Tuesday from the Bell Centre in Montreal (TNT, CBC, Sportsnet), with the Canadiens priced as a -140 home betting favorite to take a commanding 3-1 series lead.

šŸ† Who will win Sabres vs. Canadiens?

I have the Canadiens winning Game 4 against the Sabres 4-2. Montreal is coming off two straight dominant performances versus Buffalo, in which the Habs' physical play and great goaltending from rookie Jakub Dobes have made them look like the much better team in this series. The Canadiens have outscored the Sabres by eight goals combined over the last two games.

Score prediction: Canadiens 4, Sabres 2

šŸ’° Sabres vs. Canadiens prediction & best bet

Canadiens ML (-140)

The Sabres received their first taste of a hostile Bell Centre playoff atmosphere in Game 3, and they didn't respond well. After Tage Thompson scored the opening goal, the Canadiens tallied four unanswered to run away with the victory.

Buffalo has now lost four of its last five games in Montreal, with most coming by multiple goals. I don't expect as dominant of a performance from the Canadiens as we've seen over the last two games. But I'm backing Montreal to win its third straight (-140 at FanDuel) while taking full control of this series on home ice.

šŸ”„ Best Sabres vs. Canadiens player prop bet

Nick Suzuki 3+ shots on goal (+126)

Nick Suzuki has been enjoying much more ice to work with against the Sabres compared to what we saw from him in the first round versus the Lightning. He's tallied 3-plus shots on goal in each of his last four games. Backing him to finish with four-plus SOGs would have given me some pause, but this is a no-brainer at FanDuel's +126 odds. That books offers the top value available among the best sports betting sites.

The Canadiens' captain is also featured in my NHL anytime goal scorer predictions today, alongside two picks that add to Gary Pearson's Ducks vs. Golden Knights prediction for Game 5.

šŸš€ Sabres vs. Canadiens same-game parlay

I’m combining the Canadiens' moneyline with Suzuki recording 3-plus shots on goal to create a two-leg parlay at FanDuel's +287 odds. Suzuki has been the most active shooter among Montreal's core stars, while the Canadiens have won four of five at home versus the Sabres.

💵 Sabres vs. Canadiens SGP picks

  • Canadiens ML (-140)
  • Nick Suzuki 3+ shots on goal (+126)

Best odds: +287 via FanDuel (0.2u -> 0.58u)

šŸ’” How I'm betting Sabres vs. Canadiens

Follow all of our NHL analysis and expert predictions this season.

My most confident play (Canadiens ML) is getting a full-unit wager, while I'm betting my usual 0.5 units on my favorite player prop for this matchup (Suzuki 3+ shots).

I'm slightly less confident betting the Under, which is why that wager is receiving 0.5 units from me while targeting the 6.5 total at DraftKings (the other best sports betting apps are setting the total lower at 6). We've seen some shaky goaltending from both clubs at different points in this series, which makes it more difficult to forecast how many goals we should expect tonight.

Bankroll management is crucial in sports betting, so be smart with yours.
