It's back to T-Mobile Arena and Sin City for Game 5 of the second-round series featuring the Vegas Golden Knights and Anaheim Ducks. 

In my Ducks vs. Golden Knights prediction, I'm betting on the Under, as I expect Carter Hart to rebound after an underwhelming Game 4 outing. In addition, both teams played well defensively in Games 1 and 2 in Vegas. My player prop features Mitch Marner, who has been reliable all postseason and electric against the Ducks.

🏆 Who will win Ducks vs. Golden Knights?

I predicted the Golden Knights would advance before the series, and I'm not changing course. They won the critical swing Game 5 at home in the first round against the Utah Mammoth, and I expect them to repeat the feat against the Ducks. 

While the margins are tight, I have more faith in the Golden Knights' experience, with 13 players from their 2023 Stanley Cup-winning team still on the roster. The Golden Knights will prevail 3-2.

Under 6.5 (-120)

The last two games were more of what was expected before the series started, and both went over the total.

However, I'm expecting space to be at more of a premium in the pivotal swing game. Games 1 and 2 in Vegas, which both had 4 goals, are more of the game script I envision. 

Carter Hart had a Game 4 they'll want to forget, and both netminders finished with sub-zero goals saved above expected.

It was the first time that had happened to Hart since Game 5 against the Mammoth. He and Dostal will be better tonight, both of whom shut the door at T-Mobile Arena.

Mitch Marner Over 0.5 assists (-140)

While the odds are admittedly short, Marner has been one of my more profitable plays. And it might be the last time I can get him at odds palatable enough to pull the trigger. If he scores another assist, his odds will shorten to the point of being unusable.  

Marner has at least one assist in eight of 10 playoff games, and he registered 5 in four games against the Ducks. The Golden Knights' forward has built excellent chemistry with Brett Howden and William Karlsson, the former of whom has scored 7 goals in the previous seven contests. 

The setup man has an assist in four of five home games, and I expect another productive outing from the diminutive wizard.

I'm keeping it simple in the hopes of adding a bonus to the other picks. This 2-leg SGP has a probability of 31.85%. I'm confident in both plays, with Marner scorching and both teams looking to tighten things defensively with so much on the line.

While there's always a chance of a high-scoring affair between these two teams, I'm backing Hart to repeat his performance from Games 1 through 3. I also expect Dostal to be better than he was in Anaheim. 

Neither team will want to concede high-danger shots in such a critical contest. That should also contribute to the Under. I'm not convinced the Golden Knights' home-ice advantage is enough to facilitate the win.

However, over half the team has won a Stanley Cup, which should provide the required edge. I'm confident enough to invest a unit ($10) on each pick.
