The Golden Knights are the massive -265 betting favorite as they welcome the Connor Bedard-less Blackhawks to T-Mobile Arena in Tuesday’s opener (10:30 p.m. ET, ESPN).
I’m also keen to showcase my best player prop, featuring Jack Eichel, who usually comes out of the starting gate faster than a greyhound on uppers.

Craig will get his first taste of NHL action as a head coach, and I expect the Golden Knights to be keen to impress their new bench boss.
The Golden Knights have a clean bill of health, whereas the Blackhawks are missing Bedard, their new captain and best player. Vegas is also exceptional in home openers, with a 7-1-1 record dating back to the 2017-18 expansion season.
Four of those victories came by two or more goals. And they will be keen to show their fans that another deep run could be in the offing

While Eichel hasn’t been prolific against the Blackhawks, he’s usually productive, notching a helper in seven of the previous nine meetings.
Eichel had no trouble finding fifth gear at the start of the last two seasons, amassing 10 assists in the first six games and five in the opening three in 2025-26. He began the 2024-25 season with six helpers in the opening three contests.
And he was more productive on home ice last season, setting up a teammate 34 times in 36 contests at T-Mobile Arena.
