NHL best bet today

Bruins ML (-104 via bet365)

The Bruins have been a tough team to beat in Boston. The Bruins are 6-1 at TD Garden this season after tying for the NHL's best home record a year ago.

They're set to have Vezina Trophy odds front-runner Jeremy Swayman in goal tonight against a Golden Knights squad that's been middling outside of Las Vegas. The Golden Knights have a losing win-loss record on the road going back to last season and have dropped three of their last four contests away from T-Mobile Arena.

The Bruins are surprisingly priced as a slight underdog on Monday, making this an even more valuable play at bet365's -104 odds.

More NHL picks & predictions

Seth Jones Over 0.5 power-play points (+195 via BetMGM)

Seth Jones has been one of the NHL's most dangerous defensemen this season, with much of his damage being done on the power play. Jones leads all blue-liners with 11 PP points, logging at least one in seven of his previous nine appearances.

His Panthers draw more power plays than any other team, giving Florida's top offensive blue-liner a handful of opportunities every single game to add a point on the man advantage.

Tonight's opponent is the Red Wings, who rank sixth-worst in the league on the penalty kill. I'm going back to the well for this play after cashing on it last week. I bet a half-unit at BetMGM's +195 odds, the top value among the best sports betting sites.

Joel Farabee 3+ shots on goal (+162 via FanDuel)

Joel Farabee is averaging over a point per game for the first time in his career while shooting the puck more than ever. The Flames forward has tallied 3+ shots on goal in four of his last five games entering Monday.

His opponent today, the Sharks, sit second-worst in the NHL in shots allowed per game while also ranking in the bottom five in shot attempts percentage (Corsi %). Meanwhile, Farabee's Flames have a Corsi % above 50%. Calgary will likely outshoot San Jose tonight, led by Farabee finishing with at least three shots on goal. I would feel confident betting this player prop at +135 odds or better.
