Miami vs. Florida Prediction: College Basketball Picks & Odds (Nov. 2)
Last Updated: November 2, 2026 12:00 PM EST • 3 minute read X Social Google News Link
No. 14 Miami and No. 1 Florida play the first ranked vs. ranked matchup of the college basketball season, and my Miami vs. Florida prediction expects a lightning-fast pace to help cash the Over, even if the Gators may turn out to be one of the best defensive teams in the country this year. I also expect a physical battle, with both teams preferring to play inside-out. That's why my player props target limited 3-point shooting and potential foul trouble that could affect rebounding.
Tipoff from Benchmark International Arena in Tampa is set for 6 p.m. ET (ESPN2), and Florida is a 4.5-point betting favorite.

Miami vs. Florida best bet
Over 159.5 (-114 via bet365)
Florida cruised to an 82-68 victory over Miami in mid-November last year after building a comfortable 10-point halftime lead. The Hurricanes shot 34% from the field and 56% from the free-throw line. But this year, Miami has the frontcourt depth to bang with the Gators' bigs, without being relegated to the perimeter with 17 3-point attempts.
Last year’s matchup had 77 possessions, but that was with Florida leading by as many as 19 and not pushing the pace much late. Miami ranked 113th in average offensive possession length, but this year’s roster makeup suggests it should be hunting more early offense, especially since you don’t want to constantly play late in the shot clock against Florida.
Florida’s offense should also be humming early with the continuity of bringing back four starters from a team that has been a No. 1 seed two straight years.

Somto Cyril Under 4.5 rebounds (-135 via bet365)
Georgia transfer Somto Cyril was named to the All-SEC Defensive Team as a sophomore last season after leading the SEC in blocks per game and ranking 10th in that metric nationally. He also led the team with 5.4 rebounds per game.
I am lower on Cyril’s rebounding total in this matchup, as he is likely to draw the defensive assignment against Rueben Chinyelu. Not only is Chinyelu physical enough to get Cyril in early foul trouble, but Florida was the second-best offensive rebounding team in the country last season. Case in point, the Gators grabbed 47.6% of their misses on the road against a Duke team last year that ranked in the top 10 in defensive rebounding percentage.

Thomas Haugh Under 1.5 3-pointers made (-135 via bet365)
I don’t expect much 3-point volume between two teams that want to punish each other at the rim. Oddsmakers likely don’t see this game involving a 3-point barrage, as six of the nine players’ O/Us for 3-pointers are set at 0.5.
This is great value for Thomas Haugh to finish the game with one or fewer threes, as he finished Under this projected total in half of his games played against teams that finished in the top 20 in KenPom rankings.
Haugh’s 3-point percentage dropped from 34% in 2025 to 32.8% last year, and the Gators as a whole ranked just 315th in 3-point shooting a year ago.
