š Who will win Hurricanes vs. Flyers?
I have the Hurricanes winning Game 3 against the Flyers 3-1 to take a commanding 3-0 lead in their second-round series. While the Flyers will have the home crowd behind them, they're overmatched here and starting to be depleted by injuries (Owen Tippett and Noah Cates both likely out tonight).
Carolina doesn't need to open up its play style against a less-talented Philadelphia side, leading to another tight-checking, low-scoring matchup that the Canes win by multiple goals.
Score prediction: Hurricanes 3, Flyers 1
š° Hurricanes vs. Flyers prediction & best bet
Under 5.5 (-142)
Five of the Hurricanes' six playoff games have finished Under 5.5 for a reason. Carolina employs an effectively stingy play style in which the club focuses on forcing opponent mistakes rather than opening up the ice. Whatever scoring chances have slipped through that structure are more often than not turned aside by dominating goaltender Frederik Andersen.
Andersen and Flyers netminder Dan Vladar continue to lead the playoffs in goals saved above expected, according to MoneyPuck. This has all the makings of another low-scoring Hurricanes game, so my best bet is backing the Under at DraftKings' -142 odds.
š„ Best Hurricanes vs. Flyers player prop bet
Logan Stankoven Over 2.5 shots on goal (-125)
Logan Stankoven has exceeded this total in every game this postseason, averaging 4.5 shots on goal per appearance.
Like the Senators, the Flyers have had no answer for the Hurricanes' second line of Stankoven, Taylor Hall, and Jackson Blake. Whether or not that unit combines for a goal in Game 3, I'd be surprised if they don't continue to win their shifts and generate offense for Carolina. That will result in Stankoven going Over 2.5 shots on goal for the seventh straight game, which I'm backing at DraftKings' -125 odds.
He's also highlighted in our NHL anytime goal scorer predictions today.
š Hurricanes vs. Flyers same-game parlay
Iām combining Under 5.5 with Stankoven Over 2.5 shots to create a 2-leg parlay at DraftKings' +207 odds. Stankoven has thrived in the Hurricanes' stingy, tight-checking structure, as we've seen throughout the postseason.
💵 Hurricanes vs. Flyers SGP picks
- Under 5.5 (-142)
- Logan Stankoven Over 2.5 shots on goal (-125)
Best odds: +207 via DraftKings (0.2u -> 0.41u)

š” How I'm betting Hurricanes vs. Flyers
Follow all of our NHL analysis and expert predictions this season.
We've seen enough from the Hurricanes and my featured player - Logan Stankoven - for me to allocate slightly more units than usual for Game 3. My best bet (Under 5.5) is getting a full-unit wager, while I'm increasing my usual 0.5-unit player prop bet to 0.75 because of Stankoven's fantastic run producing shots on goal. I'm slightly less confident in the Hurricanes covering -1.5 on the road, which is why that wager is receiving 0.5 units from me. Bankroll management is crucial in sports betting, so be smart with yours.
