Last Updated: April 14, 2026 3:50 PM EDT β’ 3 minute read X Social Google News Link
It's shaping up to be one of the most important NHL slates of the season. Thirty of the league's 32 teams are in action, with the final playoff spots still to be clinched. The action starts with the Canadiens and Flyers at 7:00 p.m. ET and runs all the way through the Kings and Canucks at 10:00 p.m. ET, so there's plenty to choose from.
My NHL anytime goal scorer predictions today focus on three players who are in prime matchups and have metrics backing them to light the lamp.

π₯ Best anytime goal scorer pick today
Nathan MacKinnon (+110) vs. Flames
MacKinnon is currently leading the league with 52 goals and shows no signs of slowing down as the Avalanche hold down the Western Conference. He leads the NHL in shots on goal with 346 and is facing a Calgary defense that allows over three goals per game. With his high-danger shot volume and top-tier power-play usage, he is the most reliable bet on the slate to find the back of the net. Good from -110 and up.

Kirill Kaprizov (+135) vs. Ducks
Kaprizov is finishing the season on a tear, having already crossed the 45-goal mark. Tonight he faces an Anaheim team that allows the third-most high-danger scoring chances in the league. The Wild are locked into their playoff seed (ironically, a first-round date with the Stars), but Kaprizov is still chasing a 50-goal season and should see heavy minutes against a tired Ducks blue line. I wouldn't play this any lower than +120.
Dylan Guenther (+185) vs. Jets
Guenther has been a revelation for the Mammoth in their inaugural season, hitting the 40-goal mark while maintaining a lethal shooting percentage. He's the primary trigger-man for Utah and faces a Winnipeg team that has been uncharacteristically leaky in April, surrendering over three goals per game on average. His clutch scoring ability (six game-winners) makes him a value play at this price. I like this from +170 and up.

π‘ How I'm betting NHL goal scorer picks today
The number of units I wagered reflects how confident I am in each player's chances of scoring. On a heavy slate, I'm fine with exposing a half-unit in a complete mismatch like the one we're seeing with MacKinnon. We're riding with a trio of hot hands tonight. However, while I like all three of these plays, it's important to remember that goal-scorer props can be difficult to predict, so itβs crucial to be strategic with your wager sizes. For the most part, I keep these under one unit unless the data suggests leaning more into my bankroll.
Remember to keep bankroll management front of mind when you make your goal scorer predictions.
