After a Week 4 victory for the Jets, can they start a winning streak in London against the Atlanta Falcons? And can the Steelers recover against the Denver Broncos? For your Week 5 NFL picks, read my prediction below.

Denver Broncos vs. Pittsburgh Steelers

Sunday, October 10, 2021 - 01:00 PM EDT at Heinz Field

The Broncos defeated three of the worst teams in the league and then proceeded to lose to the Ravens at home. The Broncos still looked competitive against the Ravens, but now Teddy Bridgewater might miss some time due to a concussion.

It’s unclear if he’ll be able to start the game or not. However, the good thing for the Broncos is that they’ll have another reliable quarterback in Drew Lock getting the start, on the road, in Pittsburgh, if Bridgewater can’t go.

That’s convincing. The Broncos haven’t necessarily been amazing on offense, they’ve just scored enough points to win games. Denver is averaging 20.8 points per game with 373 yards of offense. So while Bridgewater was disciplined under center, there’s plenty of room for growth with this Broncos offense.

On the flip side, the Pittsburgh Steelers have fallen to 1-3 on the season and it looks like the dynasty is over between Mike Tomlin and Ben Roethlisberger. Big Ben has thrown four interceptions in four games and just doesn’t have the mobility he used to.

Meanwhile, the Steelers defense is allowing 23.3 points per game, which is 11 more than the Broncos per game to start the season. Pittsburgh also used a first-round pick on a running back in Najee Harris and yet the Steelers are rushing for 55.3 yards per carry.

It’s a small upset, but I like the NFL odds for Broncos to find a way against Pittsburgh. They’ve ganged up on bad teams and they’ll do it again here.

New York Jets vs. Atlanta Falcons

Sunday, October 10, 2021 - 09:30 AM EDT at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium

Do I dare say it? The Jets looked really good against the Tennessee Titans last week and picked up their first win of the season in overtime. The defense has really stepped up, especially the pass rush that sacked Ryan Tannehill seven times last week.

The Jets went from scoring six points in their last two games to 27 against the Titans with rookie quarterback Zach Wilson throwing for just under 300 yards along with 2 touchdowns.

The offense is a work in progress, but they’ve been getting some pieces back including Jamison Crowder and potentially Elijah Moore this week.

Atlanta has really struggled in pass protection, which is exactly what Tennessee struggled with last week. The pass rush of the Jets is serious and can get to any quarterback. They’ve proved it time and time again this season.

For the sports betting sites, if the Jets offense can finally start putting up points consistently, there’s reason to believe the defense can hold the Falcons in this game in London. The Jets could potentially start a winning streak in London and it’ll be a sight to see. This team is building up each and every week and it’s starting to show on the field and in the analytics.
