Following an extra week of rest for a lingering shoulder injury, Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts is set to square off against the New York Giants for the third time this season. Here are our top Hurts player prop picks based on the best NFL odds for the Saturday’s Divisional Round nightcap.

After enjoying a bye through to the second round of the playoffs, Hurts and the Eagles will embark on their postseason journey when they host the New York Giants on Saturday night.

For Hurts specifically, this will be the second postseason start of his young NFL career. Things didn’t pan out so well in his first playoff appearance last year. Despite not having won a playoff game to date, Hurts will be facing massive expectations on Saturday night because of how he and Philadelphia dominated much of the regular season.

Jalen Hurts NFL Divisional Round Player Props

Under 21.5 pass completions vs. Giants (-110 via PointsBet) ⭐⭐

During the regular season, Hurts only had five games in which he completed 22 passes or more. There were also notably two contests in which he finished with exactly 21 completions. This is a point of emphasis due to the fact that PointsBet’s prop line of 21.5 is slightly higher than where the rest of the NFL betting market sits at 20.5. 

Despite attempting north of 30 passes in two of his final three games played, Hurts only managed to finish with 21, 22 and 20 completed passes, respectively. Two of those outings came against a Giants defense that was shorthanded on both occasions. This will be the first time that Hurts has had to dissect a secondary that will have both Xavier McKinney and Adoree’ Jackson on the field.

Over 8.5 rushing attempts vs. Giants (-140 via BetMGM) ⭐⭐⭐

Whether it’s a goal line plunge, rolling out of the pocket to escape pressure or on designed plays specifically for him, Hurts has a solid chance of surpassing 8.5 rushing attempts in the NFC Divisional Round. This is a threshold that he eclipsed 11 times in 15 games played during the regular season. 

From a matchup standpoint, the best way to attack the Giants' defense for much of the year has been on the ground. New York ranks dead last in adjusted defensive efficiency against the run and also allowed the 11th-most rushing yards to opposing QBs. Added assurance for bettors to play the Over is the fact that the Eagles call a handful of designed runs for Hurts every game.

While BetMGM is requiring one to lay a -140 price on this rushing attempts prop, this actually represents tremendous value compared to the odds found elsewhere in the market. At the time of writing, some books have the Over juiced north of -160.

Over 0.5 interceptions vs. Giants (+128 via SuperBook) ⭐⭐⭐

Hurts only threw six interceptions over the course of the entire regular season. However, one can’t help but notice that three of those picks came in his two most recent games played. As Hurts was visibly wincing in pain against the Giants back in Week 18, it brings into question whether the lingering shoulder injury could come back to haunt him in the playoffs.

While the added week of rest undoubtedly helps matters, keep in mind that Hurts has yet to face the Giants’ defense at full strength. If pass rushers like Dexter Lawrence and Kayvon Thibodeaux can make an impact up front, Hurts could be forced into making some poor decisions throwing the football. 

Of the sportsbooks that are listing odds on QB interception props, the +128 odds found at SuperBook represent the best value on Hurts to throw a pick. Other shops have this same prop priced as low as +102.
