Best NBA bet today

Heat vs. Clippers prediction: Heat -4.5 (-114)

I just don't trust the Clippers enough to keep this game close.

Yes, the Heat have underperformed, but we know their offense was trending upward before a bad game against the Lakers last time out. The Heat entered Monday ranked third in offensive efficiency over their previous three games.

The Clippers, meanwhile, rank 24th in offensive rating and failed to cover as a 3.5-point home underdog against the Raptors after leading by 14 points in the fourth quarter. I expect Giannis Antetokounmpo and Bam Adebayo to bounce back.

Play to: -5.5 (-118)

76ers vs. Pistons prediction: Pistons -2.5 (-104)

This Pistons defense has been elite across the last two seasons, and I've been calling it since the offseason.

Detroit ranked first in the East in defensive rating in 2025-26 and ranks first in the entire league in defensive rating this season. Even with Jalen Duren out, the Pistons have held the Hornets to 91 or fewer points twice and the Nets, who had scored 121 or more points in two of their first four games, to 94 points.

All of the 76ers' starters will play tonight, and the market still has Philadelphia as an underdog. In my opinion, the line should be slightly higher.

Play to: -2.5 (-117)

Lakers vs. Kings prediction: Luka Doncic Over 33.5 points (-115)

It's hard to bet the Under on Doncic's points right now.

He ranks first among all starters with a 39% usage rate and has a 68.3% true-shooting percentage, which ranks third among all starting guards (min. seven games played). His high usage rate along with his elite true-shooting percentage are solid indicators that he can continue scoring at this pace.

While I don't expect him to score 42 or more points, like he has in each of his last two games, setting his line at 33.5 points (-115 to the Over) is too cheap - especially against a Kings team ranked 28th in defensive rating.

Play to: Over 34.5 (-102)
