NHL best bet today
Sharks vs. Kings Over 6 (-120 via FanDuel)
The Kings and Sharks have played consistently high-scoring games going back to 2024. Six straight Sharks vs. Kings matchups have finished Over 6 goals while averaging eight goals per game.
That's why the Sharks' offensive slump heading into this contest doesn't scare me off this bet. This is a great spot for San Jose to get back on track against a Kings team that ranks eighth-worst in goals against per game and has the NHL's worst penalty kill.
I chose the extra wiggle room by backing the Over on a 6-goal total at FanDuel, rather than the 6.5 offered at other best sports betting sites.

Quinton Byfield Over 2.5 shots on goal (+135 via bet365)
Quinton Byfield has an excellent matchup tonight, so I'm targeting the Kings forward to exceed his shots prop on Wednesday on home ice. The Sharks allow the third-most shots on goal per game (30.44), including nearly four more per game on the road than at home.
Byfield, who is averaging career highs in shot attempts and shots on goal, has recorded at least three shots on goal in three of his last four home games against the Sharks in Los Angeles. I understand why sportsbooks are pricing this at plus-money, but bet365 offering +135 odds makes this a tremendous value play.

Flames vs. Kraken Over 6.5 (+110 via DraftKings)
The Kraken continue to play some of the NHL's highest-scoring games. Kraken games are 11-3 to the Over this season - the highest Over percentage of any team in the NHL. Seattle scores the seventh-most goals per game, while also allowing the fourth-most.
This is somehow already the fourth and final matchup of the season between these Pacific Division rivals. All three previous matchups between the Flames and Kraken featured at least seven goals. Sportsbooks are split between a 6-goal and 6.5-goal total, but I like the latter to get plus-money odds. I wagered a half unit at DraftKings' +110 vig.
