Heat vs. Lakers best bet
Heat +2.5 (-115 via FanDuel)
The Lakers are in a bad spot. They're coming off an impressive win over the Raptors Sunday, but now they have to host the Heat, who are starting to look like a top-10 team in the NBA.
The Heat rank third in offensive efficiency over their last three games after starting the season 0-4 straight up. They've scored 129 or more points in each of their last two games, and now they come into L.A. with a rest advantage after playing the Pacers Friday.
Luka Doncic scored 45 points to help the Lakers cover as a 3.5-point favorite Sunday, but I don't think he'll do that tonight.
Play to: +1.5 (-114)
Score prediction: Lakers 119, Heat 118
Heat vs. Lakers player props
Klay Thompson Over 2.5 3-pointers (+116 via DraftKings)
This is a Lakers team that isn't great at defending the perimeter, which should work in Klay Thompson's favor.
The Lakers allow the ninth-highest 3-point percentage in the NBA (36.7%), and I don't expect their perimeter defense to improve on the second night of a back-to-back.
Klay Thompson leads the Heat with 8.2 3-point attempts per game and is knocking them down at a 38.8% clip. With Walker Kessler in the paint for L.A., I don't expect the Heat to lean too heavily on Giannis Antetokounmpo, which should create more touches for Thompson.
Play to: Over 2.5 (+109)
Walker Kessler Under 22.5 points + rebounds (-114 via FanDuel)
The Heat have a long, athletic frontcourt. Antetokounmpo and Bam Adebayo have each been selected to five or more All-Defensive teams and should have no trouble defending and boxing out Walker Kessler.
While Kessler's recent trends look good - he has gone over this line in back-to-back games - he has been playing against smaller frontcourts. The Raptors' tallest starter was 6-foot-9 Trayce Jackson-Davis, and the Warriors used 6-foot-6 Draymond Green as their primary defender on the 7-foot-2 Kessler.
Don't expect him to have the same success against Antetokounmpo and Adebayo.
Play to: Under 21.5 (+104)
