Central Michigan vs. Eastern Michigan Prediction: Week 10 Odds, Picks & Best Bet (Nov. 4)
Last Updated: November 4, 2026 7:07 AM EST • 3 minute read X Social Google News Link
My best Central Michigan vs. Eastern Michigan prediction highlights why I expect this to be a defensive struggle. Both teams run one-dimensional offenses, and unfortunately for those units, they're going up against defenses that excel at stopping what they're good at.
Wednesday's 7:30 p.m. ET game at Ford Field in Detroit will air on ESPN2 and stream on ESPN Unlimited. Eastern Michigan is favored by 1.5 points.

Under 44.5 (-105 via FanDuel)
Central Michigan ranks fourth in the MAC in rushing yards per game (169.25). However, the Chippewas won't have much room to run against an Eastern Michigan defense that is allowing the third-fewest rushing yards per game (135.11) in the conference.
When Eastern Michigan has the ball, I don't expect much movement from the Eagles either. Eastern Michigan ranks fourth in the MAC in passing yards per game (213.0), but is going to struggle against the conference's second-best pass defense (180.1).
Neither offense will pivot, as Central Michigan ranks 13th in passing yards per game (122.3), while Eastern Michigan ranks 12th in rushing yards per game (105.56). This is a big reason that Central Michigan ranks 11th in total offense and eighth in yards per play, and Eastern Michigan ranks ninth in total offense and 10th in yards per play.
📡 SBR Edge
Central Michigan has the fewest red-zone attempts in the nation with just 13. While Eastern Michigan has 25 attempts, the Eagles 56% red-zone touchdown rate ranks 100th in the nation.
Both defenses are battle-tested
Eastern Michigan ranks sixth in scoring defense (25.7 points per game), while Central Michigan ranks eighth (25.9 points per game). Yet, I like both defenses because of who they have played thus far and the fact that the Eastern Michigan offense ranks eighth in points per game and Central Michigan's ranks 10th.
Central Michigan's last three MAC opponents have a combined 11-2 conference record. Those three teams rank second, third, and fifth in the MAC in points per game, yet Central Michigan didn't allow more than 31 points in any of those contests, holding Western Michigan to just 21.
Eastern Michigan's last two games were against the two highest-scoring teams in the MAC. The Eagles held both teams at least three points below their season average. If that trend continues in this game, Central Michigan is looking at somewhere around 14 points.
