Lakers vs. Kings Odds, Picks, Predictions: Can Shorthanded Lakers Pull off Upset?

The Sacramento Kings will welcome the Los Angeles Lakers into town on Wednesday. Read on for our Kings-Lakers picks based on the latest odds.
The Kings have been a pleasant surprise to open the season. They are 6-4 in their last 10 and are currently sitting at 16-13, good for 6th in the West with most people’s expectations of being a potential high lottery pick coming into the season. De’Aaron Fox and Domantas Sabonis have been critical to the team’s success, but Sabonis is questionable to play in this one with a hand injury.
The visiting Lakers have been the epitome of inconsistency thus far into the season. Yes, injuries have played a factor but the Lakers just can’t seem to put together multiple wins in a row. They are coming off a blowout loss to the Phoenix Suns to bring their record to 13-17 on the season and 5-5 over their last 10 games. LeBron James is likely to play in this one after missing Monday’s game, but without Anthony Davis and possibly Russell Westbrook, who is questionable, the Lakers face an uphill battle.
Here is our best Lakers vs. Kings NBA pick (odds via DraftKings Sportsbook; pick confidence is based on a 1-to-5-star scale).

Lakers vs. Kings Pick
Kings -6.0 (-106) ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Without Anthony Davis, the Lakers are 2-3 this season and all three of their losses were by nine or more points. The Lakers have struggled on the road this season, boasting a 5-10 record straight up and against the spread in those games. On top of that, the Lakers have gone 0-6 against divisional opponents, going 0-6 ATS too.
The Kings, on the other hand, have been solid at home so far this season. They possess an 8-5 record at home, while also going 8-5 ATS in those games. Although they haven’t put up the best record within the division at 3-4, they have covered nearly every game, going 6-1 ATS in Pacific division games.
If Sabonis is to play in this one, he should be able to outmatch anyone who is guarding him without the likes of Anthony Davis. Without him and possibly Westbrook, it’s going to be difficult for the Lakers to keep pace on offense, considering the Kings are averaging the second most points in basketball with a ridiculous 117.8 per game.
