With so many blockbuster deals taking place before Deadline Day, including Tarik Skubal to the Dodgers and Adley Rutschman to the Red Sox, it's time to take a look at the updated 2026 World Series odds following the MLB trade deadline.

The Dodgers remain the betting favorite after their odds shortened to +160, followed by a sizable gap to the Yankees at +600 and the Brewers at +900.

Per Covers' Sports Odds History, the Dodgers were a +170 favorite to win the World Series Aug. 1. Their odds have since shortened to +160 after acquiring Skubal.

The Yankees have remained the second favorite in the World Series odds. They were +550 Aug. 1 and now sit at +600 despite acquiring Luis Garcia Jr. While New York's implied probability of winning the World Series has decreased, that's more a reflection of the Dodgers acquiring a two-time Cy Young Award winner than market negativity toward the Garcia deal.

The Brewers have remained at +900 - the third-shortest odds - after a quiet deadline, with their biggest moves being the acquisitions of Dustin May and JoJo Romero.

The market is under the impression that the Red Sox won the trade deadline, with their line movement representing the largest positive shift in relative probability. The Red Sox's +2200 odds to win the World Series carried an implied probability of 4.35%, but their +1600 odds now carry an implied probability of 5.88% - a +35.17% relative change.

The Padres' buying at the deadline gave them the second-largest relative shift, moving from +10000 (0.99% implied probability) to +8000 (1.23%) for a +24.24% relative change.

The Blue Jays, meanwhile, have moved from +12500 to +20000 after selling at the deadline and sending Kevin Gausman to Chicago for a pair of prospects.

I've already bet the Rays at +4000 (May 13), but I believe there's still value at this price.

One concern with Tampa  Bay is that the team isn't known for spending money, but buying at the deadline is a good sign that it's serious about making a World Series run.
