⚾ Cody Bellinger (Yankees) to hit a home run ⭐⭐⭐
Best odds: +400 via BetMGM (bet $10 to win $40)
Bellinger admitted in a recent interview that his start to life in the Bronx got off to a rough start, with his struggles at the plate resulting from his trying to do too much. The World Series-winning veteran has since changed his approach, and it's paid dividends.
The 29-year-old is slashing .326/.396/.584 over the last 30 days. Bellinger has also clubbed five of his nine home runs on the season in that span, most recently opening the scoring against the Cleveland Guardians with a two-run blast.
While Bellinger's average against righties is rough (.229), he's hit seven of his round-trippers against right-handed pitchers this year. He's also found success against his former teammate, Walker Buehler, in limited at-bats. Bellinger is .500 against Buehler in two at-bats, with one home run and a walk in three career plate appearances.
Bellinger has also found a lot of success against the Boston Red Sox, whom he's gone yard against four times in five games. This doesn't bode well for the aforementioned Buehler. The Red Sox starter tonight has given up four home runs in his last four starts, including a rough outing against the Atlanta Braves last time out.
We expect Bellinger will get the better of his former Los Angeles Dodgers teammate as the two go head-to-head once again, this time as a part of baseball's most heated rivalry. The outfielder is trading at +400 to take Buehler deep, meaning he's got a 20% implied probability of hitting a homer tonight.
