Ohtani has the shortest odds of any player to hit a home run today, but he's still my favorite bet to go deep thanks to a juicy matchup and his torrid form of late.

The Los Angeles Dodgers slugger has hit five home runs in his last seven games, including two in a series opener against the New York Yankees, and he's gone deep in 20 of his 57 starts thus far (35.1%). That alone makes it easier to stomach these +160 odds, which imply a 38.5% hit rate.

The cherry on top is his matchup against New York Mets righty Paul Blackburn, who's making his season debut tonight after missing two months with right knee inflammation. It could be his last start, too, given his 5.18 ERA in five starts with the Mets last year and the success of New York's current five-man rotation.

Ohtani has hit .444 with two RBIs and a home run in nine career at-bats against Blackburn, who leans on a low-90s heater that surrendered a .694 slugging percentage last year. That smells like a mismatch worth exploiting tonight.
