The dinger parade kept rolling right along yesterday when Mickey Moniak put one deep into that thin mountain air, and now my home run predictions today are looking to keep that momentum going.

Byron Buxton will be the lead slugger in my MLB home run picks. He's riding high while posting a 1.333 OPS over the past two weeks, and the outfielder gets another perfect pitching matchup tonight.

Then I'll turn to the also fiery Trea Turner, who's suddenly been a ball-mashing machine since the All-Star break.

Home run pick: Byron Buxton (+340)

A healthy Buxton is always capable of top-tier production, and we're seeing his raw power repeatedly this season, with an expected slugging percentage and barrel rate that both rest in the 95th percentile or higher.

He'll spend much of his evening against the Guardians' Slade Cecconi, who leans heavily on his four-seamer and cutter while throwing those pitches 24% and 26% of the time, respectively, to righties. Buxton is punishing those offerings, posting a .716 slugging percentage against four-seamers and a bonkers .857 when facing cutters.

Home run pick: Trea Turner (+460)

Pounce while you can and capitalize on a hitter in Turner with an astronomically high 1.931 OPS over the past week. That's come from his eight hits across four games since the All-Star break, an incredible six of which have gone for extra bases, including four home runs.

So now a hitter seeing the ball on that level faces Eric Lauer. The lefty has improved with the Dodgers, but deep down he's still the same mediocre southpaw who leans far too heavily on one of the worst fastballs leaguewide. Lauer's barrel rate sits in just the 10th percentile, largely due to a four-seamer that averages just 90.9 mph, yet he throws it 44% of the time to righties.

Turner is slugging .510 against heat with a 56.6% hard-hit rate.

Home run pick: Cody Bellinger (+414)

Cody Bellinger has been scuffling to varying degrees since the beginning of June. But underneath all the poor results still lies the same lefty slugger with that sweet uppercut swing.

We see that in his launch-angle sweet spot percentage that sits in the 92nd percentile. He uses that to great advantage while at Yankee Stadium and taking aim for the short right-field porch. That's where today's doubleheader will be played against the Pittsburgh Pirates, and Bellinger boasts a .980 OPS at home and a .578 on the road. 

In the second game tonight he'll face Bubba Chandler, who brings heat, but his command is often wayward. Chandler's BB/9 is a sky-high 5.2.
