We're reaching a point where discussing the 2024 Houston Astros feels like beating a dead horse. Despite slipping to the bottom of the AL West and falling behind the Los Angeles Angels, they somehow maintain contention status according to World Series odds. With a projected win total of around 93, their current 12-24 record in the second week of May paints a grim picture.

On the flip side, the New York Yankees, underwhelming in 2023, seem to have addressed their issues, notably thanks to MLB MVP odds favorite Juan Soto. Their pitching staff has also been stellar, positioning them as formidable contenders for the World Series in the American League as the rest of the lineup finds its rhythm.

Yankees outfielder Aaron Judge is heating up after starting the season extremely slow. He's hitting an absurd .326 with four home runs during the last two weeks, and he's vaulted himself back into the AL MVP conversation after sliding down the oddsboard.

However, Judge's projections on Thursday suggest he's due for a bit of a slow day at the office after annihilating the Astros in Wednesday's 9-4 win.

Based on Judge's projections, we're getting roughly 17% positive expected value through these -125 odds on his Under 1.5 total bases prop, offered at both bet365 and Caesars. 

Meanwhile, Pinnacle, which features one of the most respected trading teams in the sports betting industry, prices Judge's Under 1.5 total bases prop at -131 after opening at -122. That tells us that sharp money aligns with our trusted projections.

Much like Judge, Giancarlo Stanton has also been crushing the baseball lately. And when I say crushing the baseball, I mean really crushing it:

Stanton's blast served as the hardest hit ball by any player this season, one-upping Shohei Ohtani's 119.2-mph missile. However, also much like Judge, Stanton's projections Thursday suggest he won't repeat that feat.

Jose Altuve to hit a home run ⭐⭐

I don't love offering home run props, but when the value is this good, who am I to say no?

A Jose Altuve long ball is trading at around +600 at all of our other best sports betting apps, while FanDuel is hanging a rogue price of +830. For its part, Pinnacle is at +628.
