Texas Tech vs. Oregon State Prediction: Week 2 Odds, Picks & Best Bet
Last Updated: September 12, 2026 9:54 AM EDT • 3 minute read X Social Google News Link
My best Texas Tech vs. Oregon State prediction focuses on No. 13 Texas Tech's inability to finish drives. In Week 1, Texas Tech settled for four field goals against Abilene Christian and now faces a far superior defensive opponent in Oregon State. Texas Tech is favored by 26.5, but I think that Oregon State is being undervalued, especially after quarterback Braden Atkinson's productive debut with the team.
Saturday's 7:30 p.m. ET game will be played at Reser Stadium in Corvallis, Ore. The game will air on CBS and stream on Paramount+.

Oregon State +26.5 (-110 via bet365)
Oregon State may have lost by 13 in Week 1, but this is a much-improved team from a season ago. Atkinson, the transfer quarterback from Mercer, threw for 376 yards and a touchdown on the road against 22nd-ranked Houston.
Texas Tech allowed just 75 rushing yards in Week 1, after leading the nation in rush defense last season. However, I don't think Texas Tech's great rush defense will matter much in this matchup. Oregon State managed just 26 yards against Houston, yet the Beavers still only trailed by six late in the fourth quarter.
Oregon State scored 20 points in Week 1, after reaching 20 points just four times all of last season. I don't think the Beavers will get near that number this week, but after 402 yards against Houston, this offense has undoubtedly improved with Atkinson under center.
📡 SBR Edge
Atkinson has thrown for at least 300 yards in nine of his 12 collegiate games, leading his team to at least 17 points in all but one contest.
Texas Tech will be haunted by its inability to finish drives
Texas Tech outgained Abilene Christian 471-194 and won by 23 points. However, for as dominant as the offense looked for stretches, Texas Tech struggled to finish drives. After scoring on their first two possessions, the Red Raiders' offense scored just one more touchdown. That came on a 64-yard pass. Every other drive ended in a punt, turnover, or field goal.
Oregon State's defense allowed 533 yards last week, but the Beavers also won the turnover battle 2-0 and held Houston to two field goals. If Texas Tech doesn't figure out its offense in opponent territory, one touchdown may be all Oregon State needs to cover this spread.
Score prediction: Texas Tech 33 Oregon State 13
