My best Arkansas vs. Utah prediction locks in a bet on the Utes to cover the 12.5 (-118), in part thanks to a rushing score from quarterback Devon Dampier (-125).

Utah is favored by 12.5 points for Saturday’s game, which is scheduled for 10:15 p.m. ET (ESPN+) from Rice-Eccles Stadium in Salt Lake City.

💰 Pick ⚖️ Units 🧠Why I bet this
Utah -12.5 (-118 via BetMGM) 2.36 → 2 Utah returns a ton of defensive personnel under its internally promoted head coach and should limit Arkansas’ scoring.
Under 55 (-108 via Caesars) 0.54 → 0.5 Arkansas’ defense may not be great, but don’t expect Utah to cash in for a touchdown every possession.
Devon Dampier anytime TD scorer (-125 via FanDuel) 1.25 → 1 Dampier scored 29 rushing touchdowns in the last two seasons, and Arkansas just gave up two to a quarterback last week.

💰 Arkansas vs. Utah prediction & best bet

Utah -12.5 (-108)

It’s a big test for two new head coaches, but Utah’s year-over-year defensive consistency will shine through under internally promoted Morgan Scalley. The Utes ranked a solid 46th in yards per play allowed (5.3) after ranking 37th (5.1) a year before, and their defensive depth chart is almost all returning talent.

I’m higher on Arkansas under Ryan Silverfield than most, but first-year starter K.J. Jackson will struggle against a Utah secondary that ranked 10th in yards allowed per pass attempt last year (6.1). Even if Jackson can get points on the board, Arkansas’ defense is undergoing a total rebuild after ranking 124th in yards allowed per play in 2025 (6.3).

Score prediction: Utah 36, Arkansas 20

🙌 Arkansas vs. Utah touchdown scorer prediction

Devon Dampier anytime TD scorer (-125)

Last week, Arkansas’ defense stymied FCS North Alabama’s offense, but it still coughed up a pair of rushing touchdowns to quarterback Destin Wade on short-yardage designed runs near the goal line. Dampier, like Wade, can find the end zone on similar play calls.

Dampier tallied 835 rushing yards on 146 attempts last year for Utah, and he turned 10 of those plays into rushing scores. He amassed 19 rushing scores the year before at New Mexico. At the friendly price of -125, let’s back Dampier to hit paydirt again on Saturday night.

🚀 Arkansas vs. Utah same-game parlay

Let’s back Dampier for a solid day on the ground, both as a scorer and as a yardage generator, while back Utah to cover the spread for our Arkansas vs. Utah same-game parlay.

💵 Arkansas vs. Utah SGP picks
