A pair of backup quarterbacks continue to adjust to their new QB1 role in a huge Big Ten matchup in my Oregon vs. Ohio State prediction.
No. 12 Ohio State will look to bounce back after a bad 30-18 road loss to USC in Week 9. No. 23 Oregon rallied late to beat Northwestern, moving them back into the AP Top 25. The Buckeyes are -7.5-point betting favorites at home from Ohio Stadium in Columbus, Ohio, leading up to Saturday's 3:30 p.m. ET kickoff (CBS).

Over 45.5 (-105 via DraftKings)
Luke Fahey and Dylan Raiola understand the assignment heading into this potentially season-defining game in Columbus. Raiola has much more experience under his belt, but now, he'll face an Ohio State defense ranked 13th in the nation for points allowed (15.5), while dealing with turnover miscues.
Fahey's first career start wasn't bad by any stretch. He simply didn't get any support from the Buckeyes' defense. Ohio State gave up 4.3 YPC and over 220 passing yards, the third-most this season, during the freshman's debut.
Oregon just gave up over 450 total yards of offense to Northwestern. Expect a heavy dose of run game from Ohio State, which will set up Fahey to find star wideout Jeremiah Smith on play-action passes downfield and in the red zone.
45.5 feels a bit low for a pair of defenses that have regressed a bit in conference play. Plus, both quarterbacks have enough talent surrounding them to generate explosive plays.
Go to DraftKings and bet Over 45.5 at -105 odds.
📡 SBR Edge: Over in Ohio
Ohio State is 4-0 at home for point total overs at Ohio Stadium in 2026.
Buckeyes' rushing attack leads to a big win over Oregon
Bo Jackson should lead the way for Ohio State's offense to settle Fahey into a rhythm against Oregon in this game. OC Arthur Smith prefers a run-centric approach, and the Ducks' inability to stop the run against Northwestern should be a focal point of his play-calling.
Oregon will score a few touchdowns, as Raiola has come up big against USC and Northwestern, throwing for 289+ yards and 5 total touchdowns in those 2 appearances. The Buckeyes may ice this game late, outscoring the Ducks for a much-needed win in Columbus.
Play to: Over 53.5
Score prediction: Ohio State 31, Oregon 23
