I’ve featured two of the three games in my NHL predictions today, honing in on two player props for the Anaheim Ducks vs. Calgary Flames tilt.
Jackson LaCombe and Cutter Gauthier are both on admirable streaks, while Matt Boldy, the spotlighted pick when the San Jose Sharks visit the Minnesota Wild, is impressively productive on home ice.
Let’s get into things like Vasily Podkolzin in defense of his all-world captain last night against the Ducks.

NHL best bet today
Jackson LaCombe Over 0.5 assists (-110 via BetMGM)
LaCombe has quickly become one of the best setup defensemen, and he’s currently on a tear, notching at least one assist in eight straight contests. In that sample, he has tallied 12 helpers.
He has an assist in five straight road games and notched six power-play helpers in the previous four games.
While playing on consecutive nights might affect the Ducks, LaCombe averages almost 27 minutes per game and shouldn’t be negatively impacted. The Ducks are flying, too, scoring at least five goals in six straight.

Cutter Gauthier anytime goal (+150 via bet365)
Gauthier has been unstoppable lately, netting nine of his 11 goals in the previous four games. That torrid four-game goal-scoring streak includes back-to-back hat tricks against the Ottawa Senators and Vancouver Canucks.
He’s averaging 5.3 shots on goal per game in the last six while attempting 53. Gauthier led the Ducks in expected goals in three of the previous four contests and netted twice against the Flames in the last three meetings.

Matt Boldy Over 3.5 shots (-140 via FanDuel)
With 72 shots on goal, Boldy leads the NHL. He’s hit the Over on this total in only two of the previous five encounters. However, Boldy eclipsed the threshold in four of five home games and averages 6.25 shots per game at Grand Casino Arena.
And he’s facing a San Jose Sharks team that not only played last night in Los Angeles, but also allows the fourth-most shots per game (30.2).
And in his two recent Unders, he attempted six and four shots, respectively. Boldy is also incredibly productive against the Sharks, firing at least four shots on target in eight of the previous 10 meetings.
Play to: I’d play this bet to -150, which would imply a 60% probability.
