My best TCU vs. Arizona prediction focuses on how the offense of No. 22 Arizona will be able to do enough against the stout defense of TCU. TCU hasn't allowed more than 24 points in a game this season, but I expect that to change against an offense that has topped 30 in every game against unranked opponents.

Arizona is favored by 8.5 ahead of Friday's 10:15 p.m. ET game at Casino Del Sol Stadium in Tucson, Ariz. The game will air on ESPN and stream on ESPN Unlimited.

Arizona -8.5 (-108 via BetMGM)

Averaging 34.9 points per game, Arizona has consistently been one of the best offensive teams in the nation this season. The 22nd-ranked team has scored at least 34 points in six of its eight games, failing to hit that threshold against just BYU and Texas Tech.

Arizona is 3-2 in the Big 12, with all three wins coming by at least 21 points. In two of those contests, Arizona's defense held opponents to single digits, and I wouldn't be surprised to see that happen again, as TCU is averaging just 23.3 points per game. That ranks 15th in the Big 12.

TCU is yet to score more than 22 points against a Power 4 school this season. The Horned Frogs are averaging just 15.3 points in those six games.

📡 SBR Edge

With just 390.5 yards per game, TCU ranks 14th in the Big 12. TCU is also averaging just 5.84 yards per play, which ranks 12th in the conference. This will be a problem against a defense allowing just 334.5 yards per game and 4.98 yards per play.

TCU's defense can't do enough to keep this close

TCU ranks first in the Big 12 and eighth nationally in scoring defense, allowing just 14.1 points per game. That said, Arizona is just the second top-7 Big 12 scoring offense that TCU has faced this season. The other opponent, West Virginia, scored 24 points, the most TCU has allowed all year.

I am worried about Arizona's passing attack against TCU's pass defense. TCU ranks second in the Big 12 in passing yards allowed, giving up just 174.6 per game. Arizona's offense is one-dimensional, averaging 324.1 passing yards and just 131.5 rushing yards per game. That said, while Noah Fifita won't have as much success as he usually does, he should do enough to give Arizona's defense a huge cushion against one of the worst Power 4 offenses in the nation.

Play to: Arizona -9.5

Score prediction: Arizona 27 TCU 10
