Michigan State is No. 11 in the latest AP Top 25 poll but that's not enough to garner respect from the sportsbooks in a difficult road test. Here are our top Michigan State-Washington picks.

Neither Michigan State nor Washington has faced a tough opponent through two weeks. The Big Ten is considered a stronger conference than the Pac-12, yet 2-0 Washington is favored over the ranked Spartans while at home.

Here are our Michigan State-Washington college football picks for Week 3 (odds via DraftKings Sportsbook; pick confidence based on a 1-to-5-star scale).

Michigan State vs. Washington ATS Pick

Washington -3 (-110) ★★★

There is something suspicious about this line. The game is being played in Washington, but that is the only thing that points to a Washington win. Michigan State is ranked No. 11 in the AP Top 25, while the Huskies are unranked. The Spartans play in the much more well-looked-upon Big Ten, while the Huskies are in the Pac-12. And finally, the Spartans are just a much more public team than Washington.

Yet, the quick movement on this line up to, and even past, the key number of 3. This makes it seem like oddsmakers are trying to get bettors to come in on Michigan State. Because of this, it’s probably best to go against what the public thinks and back Michael Penix Jr. and the Huskies in this one.

Michigan State vs. Washington O/U Pick

Under 56.5 (-110) ★★★

The main reason the Spartans are underdogs is because of the play of quarterback Payton Thorne. His play is the same reason this total is falling under the line. In games against Western Michigan and Akron, Thorne has thrown three interceptions and just four touchdowns while completing 57.7% of his passes.

The Spartans’ defense will make things hard on Michael Penix Jr., and it is highly unlikely he will put up the same numbers this week as he has been all season. He has the talent to lead the Huskies to the win, but for him to throw three touchdowns like he has averaged through the first two weeks, would be surprising.

Michigan State vs. Washington Prop Pick

Berger Over 0.5 rushing touchdowns (+105) ★★★

MSU running back Jalen Berger has broken the 100-yard rushing mark in both of his games this season, so taking him Over 70.5 rushing yards this week is tempting. However, the greater value is taking him to score a rushing touchdown.

Berger has scored four rushing touchdowns so far this season, and the Spartans will need him to find the end zone to pull the upset in this one. Washington has given up just one rushing touchdown this year, but Berger is unlike any back the Huskies have faced so far. Disregard that stat, and take the good price for something that should be favored to happen.
